.I just bought the Next R pipe to replace my stock muffler which had become clogged over 12K miles. My vino is now a rocket and faster than it has ever been.

The setup I had prior to/with this pipe is the following: Polini 70cc bore kit (cast iron), Malossi Multivar Pulley (it's the best, don't even bother with Athena [my Athena ate rollers]), stock intake/carb - upjetted one size w/ needle all the way up, and Red Line All-Sport oil. You would think I'd have leaning issues with the stock carb, but it runs like a champ/no pinging, even up steep hills.

On my first ride after the pipe got installed, I couldn't believe what I had been missing. The Vino rocketed right up to a GPS verified 50 MPH with my 235lb arse on it, at which point I chickened out for fear of tiny brakes and small suspension. To top it all off, this pipe is the same, if not quieter noise level than the stock muffler. The pitch of the exhaust is also deeper so it doesn't sound as loud.

One tiny install issue I had was the pipe hanger bracket (the Y-shaped separate piece) had to be bent slightly in order to line up correctly. Minor issue and easily corrected.

BTW- I tried cleaning the stock pipe with solvent/compressed air and finally tried to cut in half with cut-off wheel and re-weld....don't even bother. The stock muff doesn't even want to come apart and with all that oil built up in there, there's not a good chance of welding back together nicely.

Quit being cheap and drop the cash on this one. I wish I would have a long time ago. The Chrome version of this pipe looks really nice with the black/tan color scheme of the Vino. (Posted on 3/13/11)
