there is still a debate if the zuma has to be derestricted...

My stock exhaust didn't have a restrictor in it... but King Vino swears he has removed them from the exhausts in zumas at a yamaha shop he used to work at...

So... you will have to check your scooter and see if there is a cone that causes the exhaust to get tiny (almost where it connects to the cylinder)...

If it's there you'll see it when you look into the exhaust... if there is just a large hole (quarter size or so) then you are good to go....

If the hole is smaller than a dime... it's restricted...

Well it will be a little while before I can check my pipe since I don't own a Zuma yet. That is kinda weird some would have it and some not, maybe they are built in more than one place and are assembled with out the restrictions in one of them. I will find out in the spring, that is when I hope to het my Zuma. I have a Vino right now but it is really my wife's. Thankyou for all the info.

I'm one of the one who say they are restricted, the dealer where I worked we had to the pipes out, and dremmel them out. This makes me think that some states had special requirements in regards to the Zuma.

The 2005 Zuma is restricted with not a cone in the exhaust, but a washer....a think steel one. The washer has a hole in the middle the size of a penny.

It falls off as soon as you unscrew the exhaust.
