I seem to recall accessing it through the front hatch. Take out the floor of the front basket area. Once yo are under there, change the bulb just like in a car.

Its actually pretty easy. Take out the front basket/door/hatch and then take out the screws on the front legsheild and underneath the healight assembly. Then you remove the rubber boot from the bulb and pull out the old bulb and throw the new one in. Put it all back together and your all set.

Default Headlamp 2005, Zip r3i

Hmmm... ok , I tried to apply this to my 2005 zip r3i and it seems different.

Does anyone have any ideas on changing a headlamp on an '05 model?

Todd

So if I get it right, the whole front plastic shield and basket assembly have to be completely removed?

It's usually the leg shield above where your feet sit on. Most of those big scooter integrated headlight bubbles are accessed from the back.
