Harry, are you saying that the 150cc scooters made by those makers use the GY6 engine?

it's my understanding that most all
4t motors in asian scooters are gy6 design
the parts used in each may or may not be the same
or interchangeable.
like mineralli theres a whole slue of them, vertical, horzonial,
slant and the "improved mineralli" the morini.
only some of them use true yamaha jog parts.

Harry,
now that you mention it, i guess i should have been more specific in my original post. I was wondering about the most well known scooters that have compatible parts, at least as far as the engine/exhaust and possibly transmission are concerned. I appreciate the posts so far

I tune Minarelli based engines regularly. I am well known in Raleigh NC as the scooter tuner of choice. If you want 60plus mph out of your 50cc 2 stroke scooter you come to me. I can guarantee you will get more than 60 and depending on your make and model of scooter as much as 80mph. They come in 10 and 12mm wrist pins. Almost all of the Chinese ones have oil pumps that protrude a little and with some 70cc kits you need to cut off the two lowest fins on the cylinder to clear the oil pump. Most everything except the wrist pins and the variators are interchangeable. The variators only come with two diameter shafts too. Just check before you order the parts. I don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I am going to, otherwise who else will. No scooter/moped I have ever tuned has done less than 60mph as a result, most substantially more.

65mphZuma - Thanks for the post and the info, however we are talking about the GY6 engine. Do you know much about those or do you stick to the 50cc 2 strokes.

Also what type of mods do you do to get the 60+ mph? and what does it take in your experience to get up to 80?

You can ad my Dazon Scorpion 125 to your list. everything on your list is 150. but my engine is and says it on it. I have worked on alot of engines that i would say are gy6. they change alot of the parts up. But i got a matching variator out of a 125cc 2 stroke Kymco. I was very suprised. I have a dune buggy witht the gy6 motor. also gy6. except parts in the rear gear assy are different. If it looks like a gy6 engine it probably is.

Roketa does fall into the GY6 category. Plenty of parts available. We have a decent selection of the basics (cylinders, carbs, variators) whether its worth it as a project really depends on what you can get it for. Those aren't really that expensive to begin with.

Default gy6

i can get it for 150.00 but it needs a cdi, ignition switch, and a drive belt, and a face lift. cdi is burned out for some reason, switch has key broke off in the off positon, and drive belt is worn out. of course ill do upgrades to try and get speed out of it.

good price! it will be worth your effort to get it running....
but don't expect too much in the way of performance parts
for a 50cc 4t ..i would suggest to get it running, sell it and buy a 2t
that you can really get some speed out of if you mod it.

X7. you are right about a lot of them coming from the same factory. the reason for this thread was to try and compile a list of as many of the rebranded scooters as we can to help out our customers. Many of them are new to modding or even scooters for that matter and don't know how to ID their scooter to be able to find parts. There are a ton of brands out there that use the GY6 engine. We thought a list of those known brands would be helpful.
