hi i just got a 94' razz i know a little about these motors but right now im stumped... ive read everthing here and tried to trouble shoot from whats been posted already but now i need some advice please.... i got this razz two days ago. It ran fine at first, then i let my cousin take it around the block. After he took it i tried again, ten feet from my house the motor stalls and won't idle anymore. The previous owner took the airbox off and put a filter over the carb intake or whatever that air hole is called. According to him it didn't idle at all with the airbox on so he took it off. Well now it starts up idles a little then shuts off. If i cover th filter with my hand a little then it idles better. im thinking i might have a vacum problem. I've cleaned the carb out really well and all the lines are clear. Another problem is if i do get it to run a little the scooter bogs if i open up the throttle all the way. I don have a couple question about the carb too? is there two vacum lines on the side facing the front of the bike? if so what does each control? thnx for reading... yeah i jus told a story but i want to be as detailed as possible pls help me if you can thanx

That is how Razzes are- they NEED to have the stock airbox on there or they refuse to idle or run at anything above small throttle openings. Get a stock airbox and you may have to turn up the idle screw. Good luck o_o

Ok, ive got similar problems with mine, but it has the stock airbox, tried fiddling with the idle screw, and up or down, didnt make difference, wanna say mine is 94 or 95 razz. any ideas?

ok, it will start and run as long as i have the throttle pulled back a little, but if i just let it sit there it will die. saw today that the lever on the left handlebar is broken and the cable pull is just hanging, gonna replace it anyways, but i cant remember what its for, choke maybe?? not sure, its been prolly 8 or 9 years since i last rode it.

First, take the cable that is hanging on the left and push it back into the black cable housing as far as you can. Yes, it is the choke. If it runs fine after doing this, leave it. Otherwise you need to turn up your idle screw. Just play it by ear and adjust the idle screw until it idles and stays running.

Hey no problem man. Come back if you need anything else. Oh yeah.. I'm already working on something else to get rid of the rev limiter for the Razz..
