I tried to call Provo Scooter today because I want to talk with someone about doing some serious mods to my Derbi GP1. There are no phone numbers on their web site. Is it possible to talk to them???? I'm not comfortable dishing out $600 to someone who does not exist beyond an anonymous web site.

I sent Provo money for some rear brakes on my Vento and I never got the brakes. I sent them an email and they never responded. It seems to me they are either 1) crooks or 2) terribly disorganized. Can anyone shed some light on this???

Well I can assure you that I have spend over $1000 with provo and Erich is anything but a theif...

I am personally offended that you would place such a post on this web site...

On another note... The brakes could be on back order... As for him not emailing back, did you email and expect an answer back the same day? Be realistic some times we all egt busy in life and have thing put off for a day or 2...

Also I think the reason he doesn't list a telephone number is... Can you imagine all the STUPID questions he would recieve?! He'd be getting calls all day long and would be horribly demanding and it's easier to email back and forth than spend all day on the phone...

Try email him back again and see if there might have been a missed email or something... Erich has been anything but good to me... Very helpful and I think the longest I've waiting on an email reply might have been 3 days... Which was over a weekend...

By the way, I was trying to call Provo because I want to do a kit on my new Derbi. I had great results on my Vento kit and now I want to do my Derbi. If I thought Provo was run by mere crooks I would not be interested in getting their kit for the Derbi.

I am not affiliated with Provo, however have used them as my sole source for upgrade parts...

I know that if I bought something in June and it's now august and never recieved the part or a reply to an email...

Why would you consider spending more money at the place?

Not trying to discourage you buying from Provo but.... That doesn't make since...

However to each their own...

As stated... I've had nothing but excelent service and support from Provo and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to perform upgrades...

As for your not recieving a reply, I'd recommend email him once again or PM him or king vino and I'm sure they'll get right back with you...

Didn't want to start a fight... Just strong words on your original post... Just wanted to share my thoughts and my opinions of provo...

Hope things work out for you with them... and am truely suprised that it's been that long since your order and you not recieving the product or an email to let you know the status... I'm sure you'll hear from Provo soon...

There use to be a number posted on the old forums. Provoscooter used to be the online branch of The Scooter Lounge, now I'm not sure what that status is as James B is longer active and my back story on this is somewhat old, but Erich runs both the site himself, as well as the ordering. At times it can take 36-48 hours to hear from him, but Erich is deeply dedicated to costumer service. I've seen this guy do things for costumers that make my head spin.

So you'll find zx9rider that the folks on this board are very quick to come to Erich defense, myself included. Personally, I think this is better handled via a PM route. Personally, there are times Erich can a tad slower to respond to emails than I'd prefer, but I fully realize the amount of work and time spent on both the business, and the time spent on the creation and maintains of the web site. I've forwarded this thread to his personal email address.

Gary,

I am sorry that you did not receive your brake shoes. I must have totally dropped the ball on that one and I apologize. Have you tried to email me and let me know of my mistake? I am usually pretty good about returning email. I try to return it once a day. I did recieve your payment and now that I look over it, I think I know what happened. Our website has a sort of glitch that I have been unable to track down that happens on some of the paypal paid orders do not make it to the e-commerce software. Totally my fault, I admit. I also admit that I received money and did not ship your parts, and for that I apologize. I wish you would have sent an email a long time ago and we would have got this handled. Your shoes will ship out tomorrow.

As for my phone number, I have emailed it to you. I do not post it on the site for a couple reasons. One being that I just don't have the time to be on the phone all day. Two in order to keep prices reasonable, I cannot afford to hire someone with the tech knowledge that would be good at phone support. With that said, anyone that emails me and requests my phone number, I always reply and include it. I don't mind helping out, and I definitely want to help and support any and all of my customers. I talked to one guy today about six times until we got his setup tuned.

Please call or email if you have any questions as I would be happy to talk to you and help you out with anything you may need.
