I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 Yamaha Jog, but it is a little ways away, so I'm gonna ask you guys some stuff about the newer Jogs. What kind of top speed can I expect from it? Are they pretty quick acceleration-wise? What kind of gas mileage do they get? Anything else interesting/worth knowing? Any responses are greatly appreciated! o_o

should pick that jog, my 2000 jog w/ stock bore 49cc , about 50mph depend on the rider weight 110 lb. Yes there very quick off the line, about 60mpg + on stock bore only. jog are better than vino and zuma. my My jog 68cc polini contesta goes little over 90kph, check out my garage.

I weigh about 120 lbs, so I should get about the same results as you. How fast (MPH) were you going when you pulled off 60MPG? I have gotten 85 MPG on my 89 Razz with a couple minor mods (intake and exhaust) and I always drive that like I stole it lol- I braketorque it all the time, always accelerate at full throttle, and always ride it at WOT, but this is at 30 MPH.
Thanks

Are they restricted at all when stock? If so, when they are de-restricted, but otherwise completely stock, what is the top speed of it?

motor was de-restricted. about over 45mph. Im sure there a washer next to boss, remove a pulley fins once that is out remove a washer take that out , next reinstall back together, will go faster , over 45mph.

yamaha jog is very nice scooter, i have 2 jogs actually, jog super z and jog nextzone. they are realy reliable and realy fast. i just change my secondary gear with a 15/31 combo(about 8.5:1 ratio from clutch bell to the rear wheel), change the CDI with a mild race quality, the result was amazing and it can go up to 95kph on flat road with a stock pipe on it, stock pulley and everything. i raised and polish the exhaust timing a little bit and it acts like a monster now it can go 100kph on flat! maybe you have to do the same if you want to add some kicks on your rear wheel

Another question: what year range did the Jogs have the faster horizontal engines? I thought it was '92-'01, but I'm not sure...

the jogs in canada was import from japan, got same horizontal motors. On the japan jogs got restricted cdi unit, once aftermarket japanese cdi will gain more speed. The usa jog has regular cdi.

my Vino 90cc Hello Kitty Ed. use a Yamaha Jog Pro 90cc engine. it can run 120kph w/o having trouble.

Hey I just got a 1993 nextzone Jog, we don't have them over here(Australia), they are just called a Jog(I thought the Nextzone was a racing brand sticker etc).
I'm trying to find out if they are different to a normal jog or just the overseas version of one. Not had any luck researching as most places have found mention are phillipine scooter sites etc, not much english.
Would you please give me a specs sheet on one and a copy of a manual if possible.

Anything you want to know about your Jog can be found in my Jog thread.
The nextzone is the same as the Artistic Spec as far as the engine.
Your Jog has the Minarelli Horizontal engine. This is one of the best engines ever to modify.
