Hey, I am about to by a 2006 vento triton GT5 50cc scooter. I have read in the spec sheets online that it has 1.9 HP restricted and 4.6 hp unretricted. What does this mean. How do you unrestrict it. Also does anyone know how to disable the alarm system. It's anoying. Thanks

Try the "Search" tab at the top of the page, and type in de-restrict

I vote a sticky instead of trying to convince people to use the search.

Take out the washer that is sitting in the exhaust pipe. As far as disabling the alarm, take off the left body panel and then unplug the black box sitting on the frame. Its just a simple plug.

I think if you use the search bar, you should be able to find all the answers. I'm not sure though.

Derestricted Triton GT5 will go around 50 top speed. Your speed may vary however. With my current mods I am now at 54 MPH top speed. Down hill I have reached, 67/68MPH. This is all according to the digital speedo.

Uphill? Do they accelerate good?

Up hill acceleration is pretty good. Hills in themselves are the enemy of 50cc engines though. Up hill I go around 42 MPH with my current setup. If I lived in a flat area with no hills I would probably stay with my current setup.
Today I bought parts for going 70cc. I bought a Delorto 22mm Carb(auto choke), Koso Titanium manifold, and single cable throttle. I decided to use my stock air box to keep the noise down. I may end up modifying it if increased flow is needed.
I am waiting on the Athena Cylinder to come in, while also waiting for some warranty parts for my bike.

Which Athena did you get? Iron or aluminum? 1 or 2 rings?

Aluminum, single ring. I don't have it yet, the shop placed the order and is waiting for it to ship out.

I know someone who is selling it used (250km) and the price is 506 usd. Is that a good deal ?
