well, for a while now i been tryin to sell my car to buy a zuma. got it sold bout a week or two ago only to find that the 02 zuma i had my eye on for over 2 months at 1300.00 sold TWO DAYS before my car did. :( i tried to hold out, but i really hate relying on other ppl for rides, so yesterday i dropped 750.00 for an 01 kymco zx-50, took it straight to the shop and had them order and install brand new kendas for 250.00. picked it back up today, rode it home, and the first thing i did was tear it apart and re-wire the rear turn signals to the rear clearance light things and cut off that whole nasty fender thing in the back. it seems to be restricted, since it hits a wall on acceleration at around 35-38 mph, but that will be fixed soon as well... :) ill get some pics snapped tomorrow!!

Congrats on the new Scoot!

Skullet: I know what you mean about shivering...I usually get a bad case of Spring feaver around February so I've been known to take my scooter to work (20 miles) while it's in the 20's!

I wear two liners under my lined leather jacket...one wool and one fleece...and a thick pair of gloves. (Oh, and one of the liners has a big color that zips up so I zip it all the way up my neck...helps keep the neck warm.)

I can't do that for more than a day or two but it helps get me by until it warms up.

(I was able to take the scooter to work EVERY DAY last week which was awesome...I find myself getting excited around 4 at work because I know I'm driving it home.)

Zoom Zoom!

lol.. hell yeah!! even after last night, i got the bug, and instead of takin pics, i decided to drive it 120+ miles one way to go wish my stepmom happy moms day. :D was a GREAT ride there, but on the way back, keepin a steady 35 mph, wearin 2 pairs of gloves, ski mask, stocking cap, 2 full sets of thermals, an extra turtleneck, and a hoodie, was STILL freezin my sac off. :( i REALLY need to invest in something that will block wind. i WILL try to remember to get the pics done today. lol..

LOL....remember that old movie, "A Christmas Story" when the Mom dresses the younger brother all up to go play out in the snow? He cries, "I can't put my arms down!" hehehe

Yes, blocking he wind is mandatory for the outside coat. I have a warm, thick Air Force pilot jacket (I used to fly Special Ops) so one morning I decided to wear that instead of my lined leather jacket. Big mistake...the wind cut right through it and I was a popsicle!

I, also, always wear a full-face helmet and that helps hold in the heat, too. (I might get a smaller, scooter helmet when it's in the 90's in a month or two...but maybe not...Colorado cage drivers are known to be irratic.)

yeah, i was thinkin last night, since this is my only transport now, a set of leathers might be a justifiable expense. :D

Nice little scooter!

I love my little windshield on mine...helps keep the bugs from pinging my helmet and helps keep me warmer when it's chilly out. (They have a larger size that covers your hands for the Kymco and I might buy one for early next Spring and then put the smaller one on when it's warmer....I might take mine off when it's gets hotter this year, too.)

So did you name the scooter? I think I'm going to call mine Cassie because it has the emblem KC on the side and I don't like the name Kim.

my vehicles dont usually get names until they piss me off, and then its not a name that should be printed in a business-owned forum. ;) i do want to see if i can find some handguards.. dont like these things with windshields on em, i think my main problem was just clothes that admit wind.

I have a co-worker who drives a BMW motorcycle and put on those handguards and loves them. (Says they keep the wind off his hands so they stay a lot warmer.)

I think they might look kinda silly on a scooter, though, but let me know if you find some and I'll check 'em out.

(Raining hard this morning in Colorado Springs...had to become a cager today :-(

i figured id get some and get them painted body color. either that or repaint the whole scoot and get rid of the road rash from the last owner.. but yeah, my 80cc has the front fairing covering the hands stock, and its TONS warmer. rainin here too, but i have no cage now.. lol... plus its gonna be in the 40s the next couple nights, so yeah, gonna be fun. im damn glad its only 5 minutes to/from work..
