View Full Version : Windshield anyone?
Anyone out there ever tried the factory windshield available for the Zuma? I'd like to get one, but I heard that the original Yamaha version is kind of flimsy. Is there another third party model made?

Hi JJH,
I just got the factory windshield for my Vino last week. I don't know if they are the same as the Zuma windshield, but I paid $99 for mine, if that's any indication. It mounts by removing the factory mirrors and inserting the mirror bases thru the mounting brackets and reattaching the mirrors to the bars. I really can't give a report yet on how securely the windshield attaches yet, since my right-hand mirror has a bent threaded shaft on the base. The parts guy at my Yamaha dealer tried to mount the windshield but neither of us were able to remove the right mirror. I've ordered a new mirror and will have the windshield mounted by my mechanic when I have my new S1 tires mounted and will give a full report then. The windshield itself seems nice. It comes to about eye-level on me and the shield is rubber mounted to the brackets.

I know there is a zuma windshield on eBay right now...
But it'll be done in a day or so...
Checked out the Ebay windshield but mine is an '04. That one is only for models '97-'01 (Though he sez '03). Thanks for the heads up, jered :)
