My friend has some awesome electric grip heaters on his motorcycle and I would like to install some on my Scooter. (And, even in the summer, it's pretty cold in the mornings here in the Rockies...my house is at 7,000 feet and Colorado Springs is around 6,000 feet...which is higher than Denver.)
Has anyone else done that? I'm afraid to post sites but found some called Hot Grips that allows people to make measurements on their bikes to ensure you get the correct kind.

The electric heater grips will tax out your battery. Scooter batteries are 4ah batteries and basically any type of load like an electric heating load will kill your batt.
Consider looking at battery heated gloves instead. Alot of ebayers sell them, but you never know what size really fits you, so I never bought one off of them. I improvised and did a DIY prototype of a battery heated glove on my own set of gloves, but never got around to making a final product when winter rolled around. I just froze and rode. Coldest ride I did was minus 8 Celsius. Can't go much more than 20 mins in that type of cold.
PM me if you want more details.

Look into snowmobile sites. Handwarmers are very common, and don't draw a whole lot. They also have a hi and lo. You could also buy some gauntlets, it keeps the wind off the knuckles.

Thanks. I did think about the draw on my alternator and will check the specs on my scooter. It's a 250cc so, hopefully, has a larger one than smaller scooters.
I never thought about battery heated gloves...I'll have to research those. (It's be easier than wiring into my electrical system.)
Tks!
