View Full Version : My chinese razz needs help

A few days ago I bought a Qingqi Kasea 50b, which after much googling I found to be a chinese Razz copy.
Anyways, it doesnt run but thats because a ground wire is burnt up that goes behind the flywheel, I was wondering if
1) You guys could show me where to get a wiring diagram and
2) What is the diameter of a flywheel puller of a Razz.
Now because I would like to help you guys, the former owner said this particular bike could go about 42 mph and the speedo reads to 45. From what I understand the stock Razz has a Rev limiting CDI that lets it only go to 30. That means the chinese CDI should work in a Razz and not limit the revs, so tommorow I will get the model number of the CDI I am using and post it here.
Thank You,

Second post from the bottom. I'd have to track down my manual, but I do not recall them mentioning the flywheel puller diameter, just the tool number. I haven't looked at the flywheel, so I don't have any suggestions for the DIY department either.

Thanks for the Diagram, I found that the flywheel puller number is YM-01189, but I cant seem to find anywhere that sells it. So Ill keep working on that.
And I forgot to write down what the numbers on the CDI are, but I will do that tommorow.

2 ideas for you.
1) Go to a yamaha dealership/service center. Ask if you can get such a tool. If you can move the scooter to the dealership, they might even be willing to pull the flywheel for you, either for a cost or for free. If you bring in the motor all stripped down and ready to pull, they might do it for free. I've done this with a motorcycle. Needed a special tool to take apart the forks. Kawi dealership did it for free as it probably took them all of 60 seconds to loosen the bolts in question.
2) Go to a bike shop. Ask to see a crank puller. You can pick them up for not too much and any well equipped bike shop. It looks similar to the tool shown in manuals. If the threads are the same, you might be in business.
3) EXTREME LAST SOLUTION: Find a suitable bolt that will screw into the threads. Drill this out in the middle and rethread the inside of the bolt to fit a smaller bolt. Weld a nut to the big bolt, and one to the smaller bolt. Basically, you are building a crank puller such as the bike shops sell, but with the proper threads for your application.
Personally, I'd try solution 1 or 2. If 2 works, you'll be out for about 10 and you can own your own fly wheel puller same day. On the other hand, 1 would be great if the Yamaha dealership has the tool there and lets you use it or pulls the crank for you.
I don't know if you have already removed the nut, but you'll have to lock the flywheel in place when you loose the nut. I found that an oil filter wrench that I own worked nearly perfectly for this purpose.
Since I can't post links, I can't show you an image of the official Yamaha flywheel puller.
Type "YM-01189" into google. I got 3 returns with similar results ommitted. Title of link is "TZ250M1/(M)" Click that one. Search the pdf for the Yamah tool number. You'll see flywheel puller.
Photos are of a bicycle crank puller and an oil filter wrench similar to the one I used. I got my wrench at walmart. The crank puller is one variation of the ones avialable. SOme of them come with built in handles.
While I no longer own a razz, I am sure that others are interested in the potential upgrade for the CDI and what not. While you are digging around in your wiring, be sure to note any differences in the way your scooter is wired compared to the diagram I posted. I would be interested to hear if anyone is able to defeat the rev limiter without too much work and get to 40 mph.
I think it would suddenly make the upgrade kits available from Provoscooters worth buying and putting on a razz.

Hockeytree- like InsuredDisaster said, make sure you note any wiring differences (if any) and find the part # for the CDI box if you could... Yamaha Razzes are rev limited at the CDI- on mine, I have gotten mine to get up to 32 (going downhill) and it was bouncing off the rev limiter. I have done a few mods to mine, so it will do a steady 30 MPH... if you could find this stuff, this would open a HUGE door for the Razz community.
If you have any questions/comments, please post back.

I am also interested in finding out about that cdi. I put a 70cc kit and exhaust on mine and still won't go past 34-35.

I believe the razz is limited due to chain drive, is it not? If so, no matter what you do w/ out shifting gears you won't be able to make it "much" faster..

I am currently working on a cdi for the Razzes that will get rid of the rev limit and make it go faster. Read the "Razz CDI" post for more info.

Awesome! Pics are a must! ;wink) What kind of mileage are you getting with the 70 kit and the exhaust? Are you running a different carb too?

Haven't paid much attention to mileage but I'm still using the stock carb. If we can just get past the cdi, we'd be in good shape. I'll post up some pics for you to check out.

NICE! If I get the CDI mod to work, those will be my next mods. :)
Did you find out what kind of mileage you are getting with it?

Haven't driven it much. I'm going to fill it up over the weekend and drive it around so I'll let you know then. How is the cdi mod coming? What exactly are you doing?

I'm seeing if I can adapt another CDI onto the Razz, see if it works out... I really hope it does!

Surely this problem has been resolved by now, but thought I'd post this anyway, since Google redirects here. The puller sold made by K&L Tool to dealers only. You can buy it from a Yamaha dealership for ~$16.00 or from Playtime Power Sports.
