Who will be the 1st to get to 60mph?

I have to vote lennox... due to the fact of the 105cc kit... and that I have no way of testing my scooter till april or may...

So even if the parts I install allow me to go that fast... I won't know till spring!

:(

I have to say Lennox as well....

He has the skill and the weather to do it.

My "mechanic" won't be doing mine until around Christmas and that is if I can get my poop together and find what I need to order.

Well, I guess I have a reputation to live up too then?

The weather is a big plus for me.... however.... time is not always on my side. Sometimes I think I have TOO many hobbies!!

I got a vote!

Yippie!! HAHA- it was not me voting for me I swear!

Really- I am hoping for at least 60 and that is why I seem so anal about the parts I buy (not just the pipe Jolly Moto fans...).

I hate logging on and reading about someone who has 2/3 of a stage I or needs this little extra part to get it running right and so on. Also keep in mind I am importing a very good mechanic from over 1000 miles away to get this thing right for me. If I am out a spring or some thing stupid like that I am screwed.

I hope I am not 1st to hit 60MPH but I can tell you that I plan on being there without question. Right now is not riding time for me- too cold at 53 F today so not really in a rush- still have 3-4 months before I can ride again anyway. I am getting this done over Christmas if all plans go as planned.

Mark you probably will be, you got a good lookin set-up there. If what I hear is true, MHR parts are some of the best.

I did it 60mph 3 runs all over 60mph, run average of 61.6mph.
I didn't think I would be the first. The only thing I'm ever 1st at is losing and getting insulted lol.

what year is your zuma?

It's not the new bug eye...

The old zuma's don't have the speed handicap like the bug eye's do...

Thats what lennox and I were refering to...

As I said though... it's not really a matter of who gets there first... Just a matter of the NEW zuma getting there...

We have all heard the stories of a stock zuma with a jet change going 75mph

Which we all know is horse crap...

Zuma88
11-24-2004, 08:11 PM
Ahhhh my bad. I referring to a 89 Honda elite lxj. But my old zuma (witch i just sold) did 68mph on flat, and held it very easy. (My 1999 was fully kitted but with out a gear up)

There are lots of scooters that will go over 60mph... That's still a big deal but nothing major....

I have yet to hear any "TRUE or PROVABLE" bug eye that has gone over 60mph...

Zuma88

Same. That's why intend to be the one to make a full race 2002+ zuma.
I need a frame and engine. I have a band new MHR cylinder kit in my garage some where. I'm going to lighten the frame by 12 pounds, lift it by 4 inch's, and extend the motor mount 2.5 inch's, I also am going to run my extra MHR 2000 varaitor. I have some part's like the MHR cylinder kit and MHR 2000 varaitor left over from what I haven't sold.

XPS1210
11-24-2004, 08:37 PM
yeah....

Except lennox has the 105cc kit in hand... waiting to install it...

And I don't see you going 60 in the snow...

Zuma88
11-24-2004, 08:43 PM
I'm looking in to stroking a MHR cylinder kit by using a 52mm crank. and a aluminum cylinder extension. And running a 38mm OKO D-side carb.
Right now I'm having my friend who works for a shop do port mapping for me to see if the Ports would be in need of modding.

Davey-boi

Bigger engines don't nessisarily mean huge power gains. Sure Lennox has this 105cc in hand, but who knows if it'll work, and if so how long. But knowing Lennox, he'll probably get as much power outta that motor and still keep it running smooth........ or toast it like he did his airsal ahaha :D !

King Vino

Not really fair though to compare a 70cc to a 105cc.

Elliott

I have absolutely no worries this time..... remember.... I am pre-mixing now..... New carb too...... no hose questions....

Elliot, we ride on a 2 mile stretch of us 1 that has a speed limit of 55..... it can get scary though...... I would NEVER ride on a highway though!!!

Lennox is hard at work... With the SUPER STROKER!

I have some parts on the way... a MHR 70cc kit which already was mentioned... however I placed my order for the Over Range Kit! As well as a new clutch Shoe/bell...

So... weather permitting... I will have the FASTEST! And Lennox can't say otherwise! Except I can't test it till April or May!

So...

XPS1210

I took mine on the highway here... limit is 65mph... I was only pushing my 55mph... so I was disappointed that I didn't get to highway speeds...

But it was fun to see people looking at me and wondering how a scooter could almost keep up with them!

I wouldn't say any more unsafe than a motorcycle... except that you are already at MAX speed... so you can't speed up to get out of the way if you need to.... however you sure can stop a lot faster than everyone else!

I win, my scooter was doing 73mph from the trailer attached to the back of Jerry's F150 coming back from having some work done on her at Jerry's house yesterday :)
