The proceeding was taken from the Vento USA Corporate ABOUT US (http://www.vento.com/pub/usa/about_vento.asp?zone=EUA) Page.

Since 1996, Vento has been dedicated to supplying people around the world with high value motorcycles. In the early stages we imported products from the top manufacturers in the industry. Vento’s reputation has grown in such short time due to its distinctive design characteristics and quality.

In 1998 an assembly plant in Laredo, Texas was established. This plant was built with the purpose of elevating the quality of our products in order to compete in the marketplace with manufacturers here and abroad.

Our corporate office located in San Diego, California is where various operations varying from product design and development to customer support take place. Vento’s sales organization is structured in the United States through a network of 175+ Vento Dealers in more than 30 states; there are more than 300 Vento outlets worldwide. FY 2003 sales in the United States totaled 17,840 units. A sum of 77,600 Vento motorcycles were sold that same year in Chile, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico and Venezuela, Russia and Puerto Rico combined. (Includes Highway Motorcycles, Scooters, Utility and ATVs)

2003 sales exceeded $114 Million USD including exports and domestic sales, making Vento the fastest-growing motorcycle company in America.

Our approach in the United States market includes the introduction of recently developed products in the 150cc to 500cc engine displacement range, implementation of financial services at both dealership and consumer levels, as well as, major expansion of our warranty program. Also for this year, we will be producing motorcycles in both, our Laredo, Texas and China plants simultaneously. This project was initiated due to the increasing demand of our products and limited production capacities for our export markets.

Thanks to our high quality, Vento products are approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (DOT), and certified by both the EPA and the California Air Resources Board, meeting the strictest emission regulations. Our solid effort in using the newest technologies make this possible and it reflects in our mission of providing people with first-class motorcycles at affordable prices.

Nope... didn't know all that, King!

I didn't know anything about Vento, but get the impression they are the least expensive DOT approved scoots on the market. People here that own them seem to love them. Sound like a good value to me.

Well, dang, bet you all didn't know all this about the Vento did you?

Yeah, that's what I thought the first time I saw a post about them on the old forums. The Vento forum is the most active forum on these boards according to the activity logs.

Vento makes a great scooter for the price. Last year I was chatting online with a woman in North Carolina who opened a scooter shop & Vento was the only brand she sold. She had an engineering background and thought highly of their scooters. I was thinking about getting one for my son, but then he decided he needed a car instead.

Another up & coming brand (Taiwan made) is the TGB Taiwan Golden Bee.
There's a small auto dealer/ repair car/ rental and now scooter dealer in my town who has gotten into selling scooters in the past two years. They started with yes, our very favorite:drum: GEELY--but guess they learned quickly enough it was a POS, then got Ventos, now TGB's.

The yellow TGB model looks like a Zuma

Vento is the brand I'm most likely to buy from at this rate. I'm still interested to see how Alpha Sports' scooters turn out. If you havent heard about Alpha Sports yet, you will soon enough.

EDIT: At least their motorcycles should sell well. *stops rambling*

Well the phantoms are pretty cool they have one or two extra features. It just depends on what you plan to do with the scooter.

I think a phantom is more like a go to work and bike kind of bike not made to be raced or anything not that it's not fast but just a lack of perfomance parts for it.They still look vicious though I like the style of it.:worship:

On the other hand if you are trying to go fast and look cool the zips are the way to go. I'm a tuner I like to go fast and mod my motor so the zip was just a better choice for me. The Occasional scooter v.s. car race every now and then is fun too. :smokin:
