I've got a 2001 (pre bug-eye) Zuma.. it was a mess when I bought it last year for $500.. ran great but the bodywork was damaged, seat was missing, blinkers, taillight and mirrors missing.. I replaced everything, and now have a great scoot :) I just ordered a Next R pipe and rollers, as well as new springs, so I should get a bit more 'pep' out of it. I'm looking for a new seat cover for it though.. anyone know of any aftermarket seat covers?

Well guys,
After much research, I've decided on a 2001 Zuma, color red. The machine only has about 700 miles on it. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to get it from my home state of New York to my current state of Maryland.
I've been told the brakes and suspension are different on the '01s...yay or nay?

as much as I love my 2001 Zuma, I almost recommend to you that you don't buy one. There is NO aftermarket support for these blasted things. Just TRY to find a seat for one, or a seat cover, fairings, lights, etc..
It's almost impossible.. unless you live in Europe!!

zuma 88, the american older zumas to me look better than the bug eye zumas, but they dont make power when modified. the new zumas can get the mhr team or speed or cross kits or the polini evo, which are watercooled kits. those watercooled kits make more power than the aircooled kit. that black zuma on the video is a newer bike. in europe they still make the nice looking zumas but they have the better flat motor kinda like a vino but with a longer trans of the zuma. you can check out the specs on that black bike at heavymotoring and see that he has a malossi mhr watercooled set up.
oh yeah the mhr kit that you got is that the bridge port exhaust and single ring, if so you really should change that tech pipe for a evo or malossi race pipe, or even polini 4race pipe is good. that tech pipe is holding you back plenny.
you can still get all the MHR and Polini Cross and Evo kits and water cool it.
if i order my water cooled kit and the MHR crank it will put out 16hp
i have it now at 9.5hp MHR head Malossi cylinder kit, Malossi MHR 2000 Variator, Malossi fly and polini 2g clutch. Im putting a exhuast that is build for 70cc motors on it so that should help alot. I can get a Over Range kit for mine and i will have to mod the crank case. but i dont have 349.00 right now. :(
there are all kinda of good exhuast most are the same bands as the newer zuma. cylinder kit are almost the same expt the oldder has two more then newer.
i love the old school zumas, you can get chrome panels rims forks,(crank case 989.00)
