I'm amazed. Either my dealer is out of the loop or Yamaha is selling parts that are not compatable..... here's the deal

I ordered a set of hand gaurds with the big wind screen. After about an hour the mechanic comes to me and tells me its one or the other ! ...pissed.

Has anyone installed this combo of parts ???? it seems like a no-brainer so why cant my mechanic install both of these parts....

Has anyone installed this combo ? If so how did you do it ?

if its a no brainer, i'd just take the parts home and do it myself. the only reason they wouldnt fit is if the hand guards have to mount in the same position as the windshield which is entirely possible given that the dashboard takes up so much space.

you hit the nail on the head. It won't fit for that very reason. Its just too tight and they share a common mounting postion using the mirrors. I'm going to try and design a bracket to accomodate the space requirements....

I'm still hoping someone has done this install and can help me through it..
