Alright...
I'm still looking for scooters. I'm not having much faith in the used market. I'm nervous that I'm going to buy something and just have it keep breaking down because it hasn't been taken care of. So...I am thinking about just going to a dealership here in Salt Lake City. I was wondering if anyone had any good experiences in buy a scooter from any dealers here. I was thinking of purchasing one of the following:
Kymco Agility 125
TN'G Lowboy 150
TN'G Millano 150
Vento Phantom 150
Yamaha Vino 125
Right now I would say the the Agility 125 the TN'G Millano 150 are my top choices with the TN'G being slightly ahead.
Let me know what you think. I am looking to spend about $2000-$2500 if you have any other suggestions

I wouldn't recommend buying a TN'G anything! Had one..... sold it after a month! Nothing but sCrap. Not familiar with the Vento at all. I'd say the Vino 125 over the Agility 125. While I'm a huge Kymco fan, the Agility is not like other Kymco scooters, which are made in Taiwan. The Agility is made in China, and new owners have already reported a few problems with sticking or clogged carbs. Daelim is an up and coming contender, so you may want to look at those as well, if the dealer has them available. TGB is another reliable Taiwan made scoot that I'd recommend.
If you were willing to spend a little more, I'd definitely recommend the Kymco People 150 or new People "S" 200 (163cc). If you're looking at keeping to your budget of $2K-$2.5K, then the Vino is a good choice. Tried and Tested!
Best of Luck, and please let us know what you decide!
Cheers!

Do a google search on it & read comments on the scooter bbs. The local TNG dealer that opened near me last year is no longer in business. A very well known scooter shop in Colorado (Sportique Scooters) - 3 locations will no longer sell any TNG scooters because of problems with their scooters, getting parts, parts breaking, etc.-- particularly the Venice LX, Verona & Lowboy. Also read the experience of Joey over on urbansccootin.com forum with his friend's Lowboy....maybe TNG had a bad few years & have improved this year. I just know of many problems with 05 & 06 years
sample comment about the LB
"Yup, that was me... The Lowboy was nice looking and the seat was great, but that was abotu it for good qualities. Everything else was bad, bad and bad. I remember when we went to the dealer the plastic molding above the rear wheel (mud flap) came off 1 block away. We got to the dealer and the shop tore it all the way off and said "ah, you don't need this, we'll just throw it in the trash"... the mirrors fell off... not the assembly, but the glass it self fell out of the frame... on and on everything kept falling off and that was only if you could keep it turned on. The sucker was gone fast! Joey"

I had the Verona 150. Same things happened more or less, than what's being described with the Low Boy. Mine was a brand new '06! Hey! When a TN'G Dealer tells you that TN'G stands for "They're Not Good", well, let me tell you, it sure doesn't inspire confidence in their product! o-- TN'G!

WHATEVER you buy, make SURE of two things:
-You have a good local mechanic you can rely on
-There are parts available.
Early last year (2006), I made a huge mistake...I bought a Chinese scooter from some outfit in California. (It was a 150cc made by "New Star" and the model was "Bali")
While it was a great price ($1,299), I was in trouble from the start..it arrived in a crate with NO assembly instructions and missing parts. It took me almost 2 months to get the parts from the California outfit, who had to get them shipped from China.
I, then, wanted to get it checked out by a mechanic to make sure I put it together right...NOBODY in Colorado that I called would touch it. (Even independent motorcycle mechanics wouldn't even let me bring it in.)
So this spring, I sold it as soon as I could and bought a used Kymco 250cc from a friend who was moving. (And we have both a shop and parts store right in town.)
No more Chinese vehicles for this dude...

go with the vento phantom. its the first one to come out with that look for a 150, then every chinese offbrand started copying it. plus vento is good with parts if you need them, and in stock form it will pretty pretty reliable and faster than vino125.
