I tossed out the Euro-Speedo for the new DIGITAL TACH!

Oh yea you can hate me now.

Digital Speedo with top speed memory recall, tachometer with top rpm recall (essential for variator tuning) Stopwatch with lap functions (race timer), clock, and Odometer. Pretty sweeeet!

I took the wide shot so you can see the controller over on the left handgrip. Its easy to reach with my thumb to do timing, or change functions... I thought that was real cool...

where did you get that and how much was it? Also just like str8 asked is it km/ or mph?

Its in KPH, but I was using the euro speedo anyway. I'm used to kph.

It was bonehead easy, there was some 'plug' modifications needed (pulling the tab's out of the yama connectors and putting them in the speedo's wires) and it fit like a glove. The only 'mod' I had to do was punching the mirror mount hole of the control unit out to 10mm since I had put 10mm mirrors on it.

Update:

Man this thing is cool! It gets more double takes than any mod I have done. The clock, Digital ODO and racing functions blow folks away.

yeh, i have one of these for my Pre-bug.
lol, they look exaclty the same. same colour, same functions.
i suppose theres no need for innovation when the first try has it all.

but a question. have you but a button battery in the back of yours? cause mines got one, but its flat i think and it wont save the time or anything.
i know i should just go and buy one to see, but i cant be bothered pull the handlebar to bits just to change it.

Yes there is a watch style battery to store the data.
You only have to pull off the plastic cover to access it, not take the speedo out.

on mine you do, the handlebar top cover comes off and the dash is unscrewed from underneath.

Ned, I meant that your could remove the button battery from the bottom of the speedo without taking it out. The front plastic cover off, then the button 'plug' pops out from the bottom.

News is that I may have them by Friday, and theres a NEW unit out, thats more classic than the red racing version. White face, black trim, and no remote control head unit. The standard version is just speed, time, odo, trip, fuel, turn, h/l and TRT.

They don't normally carry them, but he could bring them in if I wanted. Let me know if this is of interest and I'll give him a call.

COD seems to be a safer way to buy something, even if it does cost a little more. I have never used it, but when ordering stuff on a forum, it is probably a good idea.
