Okay, I'm just wondering about people experiences with gearing their scooters...

I have a 2004 zuma that I installed gears from provo in... it added to the top end of the scooter... Didn't see much loss in the bottom end but my motor is heavily modded...

I do however has a slight belt slip and think it might have some partial cause due to the extra power needed to move the rear wheel...

I plan on getting the malossi over range kit for the scooter and am hoping the low end that adds will allow me to use heavier weights and correct the belt slip problem...

Anyone else have a story? let us know what you think of them...

Jered. You've gone and done so much to that scooter, I can't imagine many folks on here beign able to trouble shoot it anymore!

So we still need weights when using the over range kit? I thought that was the beauty of it- sovled all those issues?

That's the fun of tuning. Anytime you do anything to anything that wasn't done by the factory, there will always be something to do.

HAHAHHA- no such thing in my vocabulary!

Not for me bro- I was hoping this thing was a plug and play- put it in and forget about it....

Maybe you best stick to modifying computers, LOL. :D You're in the wrong hobby man if you don't like troubleshooting. :p

yes I agree the fun of modifying scooters...

Some of us like to get greazie... (I know I spelled it that way on purpose)...

anyway...

The over range kit.... the variator is the malossi MHR variator... still needing rollers and tuning....

There is no "magic" kit that doesn't require tuning....

any mods will require the scooter to be tuned...

oh yeah...

I don't want help trouble shooting...

Just personal stories of how their scooters work with the gears installed...

I know a few people here have them installed on their scooters...

So just wondering how their scooter is behaving with the gears installed....

when I said trouble shooting, I was referring to hot rodding in general
