this is a new to me scooter. Its a 1981 honda express 50 SR. The fuel lines are all cracked and the carb is probably dirty, however we sprayed fuel in the carb and it started on the second kick! The motor sounded great. Me and my friend got it running long enough for me to ride it throgh the yard and I must say I was impressed by the power.

Wow, here in Texas that easily qualifies and a antique vehicle.

The guy I got it from bought it brand new. It ran when he parked it a few years ago. Its a 2 stroke with oil injection, electric start. I will take photos as I fix it. I also need to have the seat re-covered

Awww, but the seat is what makes it such a classic antique... .laugh..

not much of a seat. its more like a foam pad with a bunch of electrical tape hanging off. :D

If I might suggest, stop by Wally World and pick up some of that memory foam, and some harder, seat grade foam. See if it's possible to use your old seat foam as a template, and place the new hard seat foam on the bottom, and the memory foam on top. Go to a fabrics/sewing store, and see if they have material that can be used to recover a motorcycle seat. It's out there, you just have to ask. It should have a good fiber weave backing, that won't easily unravel, and the top material should be thick and waterproof, and not something you want to easily slide around on when seated. It would be a good cheap replacement seat, and probably more comfortable than the original when it was new.
Best of Luck!
Cheers!

I couldnt get is to stay running long because I took the gas tank out but the short amount of time I did get to ride has motivated me. It felt as fast as my zuma when it was stock. I was very surprised by the power it had and how tight the motor sounds. Heck I only have $20 in it so far and it has less miles than my zuma ..laugh..

The foam has its basic shape but will need to be built up a little. I have recovered a few motorcycle seats but never added foam. It shouldnt be anything difficult though. Oh yeah I forgot to mention this thing is oil injected. as old as it is that surprised me
