My new Michelin S1 tires should be in this week and my bike shop mech is going to install them for me. I've read in various posts about centerstand issues with the taller tires. I've seen some people post that they welded extentions onto the the stock stand and Wengeda said the dealer installed a new stand on his Vino when he got the larger tires. Will my stock centerstand be useless after the new tires are installed? I'll need to give the mechanic a heads-up on this when he does the tires. Also, anyone know about the replacement centerstand Wengeda spoke of?
ok... time to get back to my Steelers game... the Bengals are really putting up a fight today! :(
TIA,

yeah, I am at a friend house using their laptop while watching the game....... dont worry, well get 'em!!;)
If you cannot find a replacement, just weld some box steal to the stock one.

Hi Lennox,
If the tires are too big I'm going to have the mech weld some sort of extensions onto the stand.
Pittsburgh is starting to feel like it did in the 70s... the Steelers are definately the best team in the NFL today, and Rothlisberger is amazing. And he's a rookie... think we may get one for the thumb this season! :-D

I mounted the S1s on my Vino and the center stand still works fine. No mods needed.

I had to add 5 inchs to my kick stand, well I have a 12 inch lift for mine.

There are no center stand issues. I am running 3.5x10 on my Vino with no issue whatsoever.

if you add a longer shock and upgrade the tires--that's when you get issues with the centerstand. Both my tires now touch the ground and centerstand is not quite as stable as before, but still works. I have 3.0 x 10 tires with the MDI shock
