i'm sure this is has been covered somewhere, so i apologize in advance... i searched, and have seen the threads on painting vinos/plastic body scooters, but i'd like to know if there's much difference/more work involved in repainting a metal bodied scooter... basically, i just saw an ad for a hardly used stella for only 2300 dollars!! and that's with accessories! i'd buy it in heartbeat (and still probably will) but it's tangerine... i'm really not into that color... i'd like to paint it asap if i get it... what do i need to know?

The only thng I would see different is the type of paint.
I have yet to look into the paint I will use, but when I do I'll ask the paint shop the same question.
As for the rest. Just sand and stuff like you would anything else. Don't forget the primer.
Good Luck

prep work will be different...
with metal you need to make sure there is no rust, etc...
The plastic panels need to have an adhesive inhibitor sprayed on the panels first...
Where metal just a coat of primer...
They make rattle can adhesive inhibitor... so if you went that route...
or if you are spending the cash for a "real" paint job...

i didnt have to use a adhesive promoter i used ppg primer, and then their single stage paint , i had very good results paint stuck with no problems i sanded the panels with 1000 grit, working up 2000 grit to prep for the primer.

Painting a Stella is just like painting a car.
The Tangerine is the only model that Genuine sells that uses a vinyl paint instead of an acrylic enamel. You can find the color codes here (http://www.genuinescooters.com/specs.html).
