Anyone know where I can get aftermarked rims?
Or is painting mine my best option?

Painting the rims is cheap and easy. I'd suggest taping off the edge that is touched by the bead of the tire. Otherwise, if you paint all the way to the rubber - then you mess it up changing tires.

I am going to be painting my rims soon. Powder coating is very expensive! Any other suggestions?

Len, I had my rims, rack, and forks powdercoated for $100 out the door. That might be why they are such a plain color, but $100 anyway.
The trick is to go to a large powdercoating co., and just throw your small parts in on a large run.
And it helps if there is a cool guy running the place too.
Ask your friends for a reference. My subaru buddy used to go to this guy, so I dropped his name at the powdercoaters, and I was in.

a pro paint job would be that $ as well. Migth as well just rattle can them with the tires taped up.
I know my powdercoater wasnt happy with how hard it was to media blast the old paint off.

So, what are you sayin'? Powder coat them or not?

do what you feel you can afford. i personally dont want to worry about how sray paint chips easily so powdercoat was worth the money. if you dont care, then spray them. prolyl be a different between 10$ and 200$

That was the exact reason why I opted to spray paint them!

my buddy bought a kit similar to this one, threw a spare stove in the garage to cook the parts, and made a few grand on side business before a "friend" stole his machine.

Spray paint costs $10. I'll stick with that for now.
