I looked at the enlargement of the pic and it looked similar but it's way too hard for me to tell and with the limited amount of info, there's no real telling. I'll level with ya, with what I can tell from the pic, you may be better off going to a local YMC dealer and just order a stock replacement rather than risk wasting money on a shot in the dark.

I'm at work and can't visit eBay from here... however...

It's only $10.00 but if you do that a couple of times... then your wasting money...

Auto parts stores often carry generic gas caps (some that lock) to fit multiple cars. Not sure if any would fit the Vino, but it might be worth a shot. If I recall, they're only about 10 or 15 bucks.

$75 is what i was quoted by Yamaha unless my dealer is just over charging..... Auto part stores are a no go i tried they don't have anything close, if i do buy this one and it don't fit i can stick it back on ebay and get my money back =0)

You could try to locate a cap from a Geeley or other similar Vino clone scooter, like TNG Venice--has to be cheaper than a Yamaha part

Chances are that a Geely or TNG cap won't fit, I'd suggest looking at a motorcycle supply shop like Dennis Kirk, or drop Erich (sales@provoscooter.com) an email.

Did you email the dude that listed the part through the ebay contact thing?

re. King Vino's reference to Dennis Kirk... they seem to be really well stocked. I recently ordered clutch disks and a gasket set for my 79 Honda Twinstar from them. The bike may be 25 years old and an obscure model, but they did have all the parts I needed in stock and delivery was very prompt. I highly recommend them. They may very well stock scooter parts. Check their website.

Time for a provo plug....

REMEMBER! This forum is supported from the money made at www.provoscooter.com <--- the store front...

So if you need something please check out parts there first as well, if you need something that isn't on the site, email erich and see if he can help you out before placing an order somewhere else...

This will allow the forums to be up and running for a long time in the future... As well keep Erich eating! <-- hehe!

The gas cap costs $75 here in the DC area too. I bought a used JOG gas cap and it worked with a slight shaving of the plastic panel trim around the gas cap hole. I did pay like $30 for it at the time.
