I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this..SORRY- ///BANNED/
As most of yous know I bought another scooter. My freind got such a good
deal I had to do the same.We found a dealer that went out of business
Mar 1st.We were able to buy a couple of Bajaj Chetaks for the price of
$1450 each.Way below his costs and he did everything to make sure we
were happy.
My problem now is with ArgoUsa.I emailed them to try and get a shop
manual for these Bajaj's.They informed me that they dont sell these to
the public and the only way I could get one is with the dealer I bought
my scooter from,I explain to them that this dealer is no longer around.
There responce was TOO BAD. ,.,. .Well that just burns me up.I emailed them
back saying,I hope there new line of scooters fail.
But,that isn't helping my situation..If anyone knows where I might find
a Shop Manual for a Bajaj Chetak, please pm me..

What a great way to insure a long term repeat customer. Have you tried the library?

Good luck,

I think you went about this all wrong. Most Bajaj owners know if you go to

http://www.argousa.com/Tech%20tips.htm

Scroll down you will see the owners manual. It's FREE to download.

Ouch. It seems you went from 0 to 60 pretty quickly on this one.

Why don't you just download the manual off of Argo's website?
It is free. It is the same thing a dealer would supply to you.

As far as treating the customer, I also own a Yamaha Vino, I cannot imagine getting a free, downloadable service manual from them.

He tried to buy one. They said, "To Bad!" They did not offer the information that he could download it, nor did they offer (I assume {and I know all about what happens when you assume...}) they made no attempt to put him in touch with another dealer.

It's easier (and more cost effective) to keep a customer you already have than to get a new one. These people seem to be acting as if they are happy since they got their money so they don't care about him anymore.

From what I have read on the other forum I am a member of, the owner of Argo replied and suggested they contact a dealer to purchase the manual. This is standard and helpful advice, that is supporting the dealer. Yes the dealer was out of bussiness so the customer could have contacted an active dealer to buy one from them. This person making the complaint did not take the advice of everyone on the other forum and download it for free from the argo website. It is not hidden on the website it is in plain view. I am sure that as a consideration to the dealer, Argo does the best it can to refer customers to dealers to keep them in bussiness. Before I purchased my chetak last week I downloaded the service manual, owners manual, and parts catalog all free of the scooter website. This allowed me to read them and see what I was getting before I decided to purchase the Chetak. This person really seems irrational to me trying to slander what I see as a good company. You can tell by the argo usa website how much the owner of argo cares. He posts mods he has done on his website. He also gives you the tech diagrams, service manuals, etc. His website, at times, comes off more like a forum than the u.s. distributor!
Add to that- I paid $3050 for my chetak. I aint even mad about it. Get over the name calling and relax!

I also own a zuma, I wonder what kind of reply I will get from Yamaha If I email them and ask to buy a service manual from them. I wonder if there is a place on their websight I can find to down load a free service manual, owners manual ,wiring diagram, and tech notes. Does the Yamaha websight have a link to the provo forum like the Argo has a link to the yahoo Chetak Group?

I'm sorry but from what Laiuee said on this forum they weren't helpful at all.

Before my retirement I made my living in quality assurance. My specialty was customer perceptions.

Read my post regarding my local Yamaha dealer.
http://www.provoscooter.com/vbull/showthread.php?t=8645

I stand by my support of Laiuee. From what he tells us in his post there was a lot more they could have done for him if they'd been willing to put forth a little effort. They chose not to.

They may well build fine scooters but their service after the sale seems to leave a lot to be desired, and the fact that he got a good deal doesn't figure into it. Think about this. Suppose your dealer goes bankrupt tomorrow. Is this how you want to be treated?

I just remembered. (Old age. Memory is the second thing to go. Did a lot of damage back in the '70's)

I did have a question concerning some OEM Yamaha parts that I bought from my non-Yamaha dealer. I called Yamaha USA. They gave me the number of the parts support line.

They first suggested that I ask my Yamaha dealer. I explained that I was boycotting him. With no further discussion they proceeded to to help me.

They were polite and friendly. They "went the extra mile" including having to research the issue and calling me back. :drum:

It seems as if argousa could have at least given him the weblink for the service manual.

I agree, Argo could have told them where to click on the page to get the manual, Hopefully they wouldn't take that as an insult to their intelligence, and Argo would not have to deal with all the negative spin, the customer would have a service manual, it would be win-win. I am gonna go ride my new scooter, it's 68 degrees and sunny in the hills of Fayetteville AR today! ::handleba

First off I was mad at argousa.I thought it was the wrong way on the way
they emailed me. ..puke.. The dealer I purchase my Chetak has been great. He pointed
me in the right direction..I now found out that Bajaj really dont make a
Shop manual like Yamaha or Honda.Bajaj makes a service manual and a
owners manual only.Yesterday I did a lot of downloading on manuals.I want
to really thank :worship: SOOZND for her shop manual on the Vino 125.It took me a
couple of hours downloading it,but it was sure worth it.Thats the kind of
manual I was looking for..I also see why there isn't very menany dealers in
this country selling the Bajaj's ,,poopin,, .....Thankyou again susan.
