Was just curious on how sensitive the motor is
to timing changes.
On the way home from an errand I heard a brief faint flapping
noise... then the engine started vibrating, only above 8k.
Limped home.. figured it might be the broken new fan.
Anyway.. mixing topics, before he vibration started (same trip), it
wouldn't rev past 10.4k.... While putting back the stock fan,
I also put the timing back to stock, from ~1 degree advanced.
Took it for a test drive, and got it back up to 11k. Couldn't go
faster due to traffic. Vibration was also gone. .. BTW, didn't see
anything wrong with the Jog fan.
So question is... I've had the timing all over the place. How big
a change is 1 degree? Is it really that sensitive?
