so i'd like to order stage two, but i sure wish i knew someone in seattle or anywhere semi-close to help me install it! i'm pretty sure i could do it on my own correctly, but only after 6 extra hours of messing up something or other, needing to run to sears two or three times for some tool or screw or something, and basically just pulling all my hair out...

anyone in the northwest that i can enlist the help of? i can offer whiskey, and, umm.. ?

and to install the kit, aside from the regular tools, i need the longer throttle cable, a piston ring tool (no idea what that is), and is that it? i really don't want a repeat of the stage one/bench vice/strap wrench episode...

Feel your pain...

I don't even try to wrench on any thing- ends up costing me two times as much in the end with twice as much down time.

Hope you can pull it together or enlist some help!

The stage 2 kit is pretty simple... the hardest part of it is getting the throttle cable to work...

I used the stock cable... So it's doable... I think thats a word!?!?!

anyway... Look in my scooter garage and you see a pic of a stock cable and one that's shaved to fit... I took a dremmel and a sanding tip and made the tip fit...

Other than that the stage 2 is simple... litterally after you remove the body then it's 4 nuts on the cylinder and 1 screw at the carb. Well it takes some thought in the middle and such but it was pretty simple... and now that I've done it a couple times... I can pull a cylinder off and put it back on in around 20 minutes...

Oh yeah... if you ordered the single ring kit... there is no need for a ring compresser... all you do is pinch the piston rings when you press the piston in the cylinder... if you have 3 rings... then you would probably need a ring compresser...

Erich has pretty good HOW-To's on installing the stage 2 kit...
