I just got a Vino that had been sitting in a shed for 5 years off and on
it only has 450 miles.
I got it give to me . I thought Id try and see if the battery was good and
turned the key and it started the first time.

Well the problem is that when it warms up and the automatic choke disengages

it bogs down when you give it throttle but it still idles fine .

If you feather the throttle enough times it will rev up and I can take off
just fine but when i come to a stop and give it gas it will start bogging down
again till I mess with the trottle .

Any clues ?

I was thinking maybe a sticking float ?

Any help appreciated.

does it still do that after 10-20 mins of riding?

you need to change the spark plug...

drain the fuel and replace with fresh fuel

Drain the oil and replace...

and probably clean the carb...

After 20 min of driving it gets noticlby better .

But still does it .

depending on how cold it is where u live, they choke could still be possibly be on making it too rich. Too rich bogs out when you twist on the throttle but if you roll on slowly it will go. Try turning your air screw out 1/4 of a turn and see if that helps.

You're in Missouri. It's cold! (Yeah, like I had to tell you that. :8wave: )

After sitting that long I'd bet the carburetor is all gummed up, but the first thing I'd do is put a new properly gapped spark plug in it. I'd also drain the fuel tank and replace it with high detergent gas. (Chevron, Shell or Texaco)

That probably won't fix it, but it couldn't hurt and it's cheap and easy.

If none of this does it go to:

http://www.provoscooter.com/shop/vinoservicemanual.pdf

and download the service manual. Take the carburetor apart and clean it. While you're at it service the air cleaner.

Someone gave it to you? :ll Wow, my '01 had over 10,000 miles on it and cost me $800 about 6 months ago. I mention this because some folks think that because something was given to them that's what it's worth. With a little bit of work it'll give you many miles of care free scootering. o_o

Ok Need help I cleaned everything the carb wasnt dirty at all replaced all fluids and sparkplug .

It still does the same thing so I adjusted the air screw all the way in and no it runs
and takes off fine but at half or more throttle it starts bogging down.
If I adjust the air to anything but all the way in it bogs like before.
Ive tried 1/4 increments from all the way in to all the way out but it wont stay running
at any thing but all the way in .
Im gonna recheck the auto choke because the manual says the ohms from 8-12k at 63f
im at 15k at 35f outside temp .

One more thing the plug I took out was an ngk but bpr8hs instead of bpr7hs
and when it inspected it ,it was saturated with gas.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds like a partially plugged needle jet... Was fresh fuel
part of the fluids change?

yes fresh fuel needle jet was completely clean

Question does the auto choke open when hot or close when hot ?

Also is the auto choke a electromagnet or does it heat up and slowly open?

Slowly heats up and closes when hot.

Was wondering, even though it has so few miles.. maybe the previous
owner fiddled with the needle height. Do you remember noticing
what position the needle clip was in? There's five slots... stock
is in the middle. Talking about stock... is the air filter box still on,
with the snorkle attached? Snorkle is on the back, small rubber tube
sticking up.

The needle at stock height and I have the filter off right now.

Is the rubber elbow from carb to air box off too? Have you
tried it with all the air filter parts back on, after the carb clean?

It's been a while, but I think that might be most of the problem.
Just wants it's air filter stuff back on. Stock main jet is small, and
needs that intake restriction to work right.

yes it was the stupid airbox oiled the filter stuck it back on and adjusted the air screw
good to go thanks all
