derestricting Derbi Atlantis

My Atlantis goes quite fast already (my speedo says 82 - 85 kph at top speed), but in reality I think it is about 10kph slower. Is there any chance that there is no exhaust restrictor in the exhaust pipe assembly noting the speeds I am getting already?

I know that the Atlantis is pretty fast to start with in the first place, but I want some confidence going over bridges and being able to keep up with the cars.

is your bike brandnew. i have a typhoon and it has the same engine as a your bike and my bike didnt have any restrictions to take off. only the cat pipe. i was told to take that off some how and you would get almost 10mph more on top but i dont think that would work. the best thing to do is just get a bore kit and gears.

mine's a 2004 and it was broken in at about 1700kms before I bought it. I bought it in August 2005 and it now has about 3000 km's

what is your top speed on a flat road? Is your speedo off like mine too?

i have the exact scooter that you have in your pic i can usually get my scooter to do 90kmh on the speedo all i have done is the mossali air filter and uridium spark plug.

I Have the same beast...

The Speedo is of poor quality...and does not reflect actual speed....

GPS is the only way to get an accurate reading....

Stock...I recall it doing 65 after a block of acceleration...

As for the pipe look in the Garage under my User name, I'll post a picture of pipe restrictors i had to cut out....

what is your top speed on a flat road? Is your speedo off like mine too?
stock speed with 33miles on the bike i go 40mph flat out, when i took the bike off of the showroom floor it would only get around 33mph, its still not broken in yet, but i dont see the bike going over 45mph. the euro guys claim their stock bikes can get 55mph.

Well, I work in metric (yeah, in Canada, we do weird things!!!) 45mph is around 73kph, which is probably what I am getting right now. Even though the speedo reads 85kph, I know the true speed is much much lower. I had a car pace me when I went WOT and know that it is about that much off. But eventually I will have it tested against a GPS to settle the issue once and for all.

Stock at 55mph (89 -90 kph). Well, they are probably getting fooled by the wonky speedo, because if that's the case, then I should say that I can get 100kph on mine, because I did (on the wonky speedo, and going downhill), but I never brag or claim it as official, bcuz I know I'll get laughed at outright.
