I live in a university town, we have two scooter clubs, one exclusively for the classic Lambrettas & Vespas. The other (The Killer Bees) is for anyone who loves scooters. I have been on a few group rides, but not as many as I would like--time conflicts & other responsibilities.
I wish we had more members in the club --sometimes only two or three show up for a ride. I love to see the looks on the people in cars when we all scoot down a main road in a row.

I know the feeling, the only scooter rally I ever went on was in SF and there had to be over 200 scooters there. People looked at us like we were driving a Sherman Tank down the street. It was so empowering being part of such a large group that stopped traffic.

Is that when you bought the Bajaj, or did you have it already?

We have a club here, but I don't get the impression that it's very active. I believe that they only do group rides a couple of times a year and that's about it. I participate in the group rides, but I haven't officially joined.

I bought the Bajaj about a month after the ride. The ride is what got me hooked :)

The club in the provo area is Brigham's Bees (http://www.brighamsbees.com). Since you are in Wood's Cross, you might be more interested in the Upstart Scooter Club of SLC. They have an active yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/UtahScooterScene/) and a traditional website (http://www.upstartsc.us/).

no clubs that I've been able to find, but there are plenty of scooter owners most are DUI or DWI guys that are driving scooters because thier licences have been taken away. Those guys seen to lack the collective spirit. I would like to start a club though. There would have to be a tire size limit though as some large wheel mopeds would put scoots to shame. I just bought my scoot from ebay and it still has has that new smell. This is my second scoot. I have a Harley too, but it's just not as fun as a scoot. My 05' Vento Sauron is blueish grey, but soon to be all black and chrome. Best bike so far!

In Tulsa we have a group for Vespas but nothing I know of for the rest of us.
I will sniff around and report back later (as IF anyone cared about us here in "fly-over" country!

We have a group of three or four scoots w/are girl friends that we try to ride with a couple of times a month. It's not a club yet but we are always trying to recruit more. We went out Saturday night for Halloween dressed up as the following,
Zuma:Superman and Wonderwoman
Super9: Ponch(CHIPS) and Sargent Sexy
Vento: Lt. John Baker(CHIPS) and Deputy Do Me
The Sargent and Deputy were hot female cops in fish nets and well you get the picture. We all laughed all night at the looks and hoots we got. Still laughing!

Love those costumes! My buddy took his scoot out that night too, but went in a nude body suit. "Naked Guy on a Scooter" always gets honks, he says.
Wishin' I had a club, too.

Some friends and I are starting a club in Austin. We've got a name SASS (Smart A**Scooter Sisters) and will soon have an official meeting where we will formalize things. Not sure if it will be for women only, will be up to everyone to decide. My vote is for open membership...if a guy is secure enough to be part of a club with the name "Sisters", then he should be a fun guy to have in the group. We'll definitely have group rides designed to allow for speeds appropriate for 50cc bikes. I'm pretty excited and think we'll have a blast riding as a group. ::handleba  o_o

I ride with a nice club called the Vespastics here in Los Angeles. I am not a member because I just met them, but they are really nice people and are amazingly patient with my slow little 50cc Zuma.

Thanks for the well wishes. Our club, S.A.S.S. (Smart A**Scooter Sisters) is up and running. Our first ride and meeting was on 11/13/05 and we had four "sisters" for the ride and then another joined us for refreshments/meeting afterwards. We decided to have rides on the first and third Sundays of each month. We're meeting at 2pm during the Fall/Winter. Our next ride was on the following Sunday since it was the third Sunday and there were 7 scooterists! We almost doubled our attendance, and would have if one of our members had not been out of town and another had to do something with her child,
We now have 10 members and a temporary website http://www.geocities.com/smart_ass_scooter/SASSWebpage.html?1132590368480?200521 I would have done some thumbnails if I knew how to do it. I haven't even been able to post my picture. I did a search for posting pictures but came up with nothing.
Please visit and see our pictures. I'm the one on the blue/silver Vino Classic. We have a variety of scoots in the club...Vino (of course), Vespas, Metropolitans. All rides accommodate 50cc scoots.
Our last ride was such a blast! We got lots of waves, honks (the nice kind) and big smiles. :sunny: We were really cute on our scoots if I do say so myself! ::handleba Visit the website to find out about our next ride. We're going to have a ride on the 18th and will meet at 5pm to eat at a Thai restaurant then will ride around town looking at Christmas lights. There is a street in Austin (37th St) that is quite famous for elaborate decorations, and the restaurant is just down the street from it. That will be our first destination then we will go to other neighborhoods with good lights and stop along the way for hot chocolate to warm up. I'm sure some of us will decorate our scoots with Christmas lights for this ride. Wish there was a way to put antlers on our helmets. I was able to put some on my bicycle helmet last year for the Jingle Bell Ride that fit through the vent holes in the helmet. Anyone know of any that would work on a motercycle helmet?
I'm looking forward to getting a permanent website. The one we have now is a freebie, but is just too long and complicated...but it's a start. We need one with our name and dot com at the end. We're still looking at our options. There are no dues to join the club so we probably need to find sponsorship to pay for the website. Any suggestions as to domains and getting sponsorship?
Sorry for the lengthy post, but I thought y'all would be interested in a few details.
