I had my pertutti solo delivered 3 weeks ago. i'm having a difficult time with the dealer as they are on winter holiday hours. i havent driven it yet! they started it when they delivered it with the kick start. it started once after with the electric start. then nothing at all since. the mechanic came out and changed the battery and spark plug and got it going. 3 hours later, i went to start it, and nothing happened.
i am certain i'm doing everything right. could this be a starter problem? the battery is not dead, because the lights still work. wouldnt it still start with the kick start?
any ideas would be much appreciated.

Does it turn over with the electric start, but not actually start? Chances are, you're doing things right, but a new scooter always takes time to figure out exactly how it starts. Some like lots of fuel, some foul plugs quickly. You may have just fouled another plug. You don't need a the battery to start if it has a kick starter, but the switches on the key and handle bar must be on. Then you can either push the starter button (while squeezing a handle), or kick it.
Is this a NEW scooter?

It makes a noise, but i wouldnt say it's turning over. The plugs are something to think about. It is brand new. Only has .02km, and the tank is full. Thanks for your info.

make sure everything is turned to on and keep kicking it. if its a new scooter and its been started it will start. if not you're just doing something wrong.

Well, I found out what happened. It turns out, they just don’t break in well in cold weather. It’s been in a heated garage and it starts every time. It’s just too cold and icy to take it out now. The dealership did a bit of an experiment; they had a brand new one that started indoors, and left out side for several hours. It took them a half hour to start it. Then they had one with 100kms on it and it only took a couple of tries to start it. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to wait for spring. Thanks for your suggestions!
