I rescued a couple of scooter someone was getting ready to throw out... Best I can tell they are TNG Venices...

Four problems... 1) The body work is broken... where is the best place (online?) to buy new bodywork pieces... and

2) One of them smokes a lot and although it starts well, when I give it full throttle (on the stand) it dies... It used to die when I gave it any throttle, but has gotten better by just running them... seems like a carb issue..

3) One of them has a broken ignition switch... Can I buy an ignition switch (or better yet) bypass it with a cheap non key switch? Does anyone know the wiring to do this?

4) One of will not run the electric start with button... I checked the button and it seems okay and if I send 12V to the solenoid leads, the starter works... It seems like it is in the wiring between the button and the solenoid but I am just checking to see if there is a common problem...

Thanks!!

so many clones check the vin # online to be sure you have a venice
What year??

Sorry. Us Tng dealers can't sell online

2) One of them smokes a lot and although it starts well, when I give it full throttle (on the stand) it dies... It used to die when I gave it any throttle, but has gotten better by just running them... seems like a carb issue..

most likely the oil valve on the carb is plugged open
allowing excess oil to flood the motor

3) One of them has a broken ignition switch... Can I buy an ignition switch (or better yet) bypass it with a cheap non key switch? Does anyone know the wiring to do this?

TNG sells complete sets of keys

4) One of will not run the electric start with button... I checked the button and it seems okay and if I send 12V to the solenoid leads, the starter works... It seems like it is in the wiring between the button and the solenoid but I am just checking to see if there is a common problem...

Perhaps a faulty brake switch is the cause

Where might I find the VIN?

1.the vin is under the plate near where your feet /knees go
2. remove the valve, soak in brake THEN carb cleaner, replace
or
the best way is to disassemble the valve, clean,CAREFULLY strech spring, reassemble, reinstall
3.a easy test for the switch is to hold in the right(other) brake lever and hit the button.
4.check the fuse.
scooter will start with the kick but not the button?might be the fuse.
does the gas gauge move when you turn the key?? no, bad fuse

oilyhans
btw: if you loose the tiny bearing or spring your sol
and will have to buy a new carb
