seriously eBay... I got my full face helmet for something like $60.00 plus a few for shipping... It's a snell 2000 and DOT approved helmet... MSPR of $215 or something like that...

Or

here is a closed auction but a good example...

It's a leather 1/2 helmet for $28.95 plus shipping...

You can get great deals...

If you want a helmet just to have one... 1/2 helmets will work... but for the best protection helmets I recommend a full face helmet... They are a little more but are much better protection...

Personally, I'd be reluctant to buy a helmet from eBay for the same reason I wouldn't buy a used one. I guess buying an overstock from eBay from a retailers or a reputable online store is ok, but I prefer to physically inspect any helmet before I buy one.

You know that's pretty damn cheap for a flip up. I could use one in black, cause I wear glasses it's a real pain putting them on and taking them off when I wear my FF helmet.

yeah... anyway... I bought my replacement Full face helmet on ebay... it's a hair big... same size as my old helmet but it's a tiny bit better...

My old one was TIGHT... I couldn't chew gum as it pressed my cheeks in and I'd bite them... the new one I got there is a hair looser and I can at least chew gum...

anyway... If your buying a NEW helmet on eBay... your pretty safe if you know your size... If you don't know your size at least get to try some on before you buy one...

Also... eBay or other ONLINE places are usually much MUCH cheaper as they don't have to have a storefront to increase their costs...

I paid over $100 for my 1st helmet (I replaced it as it was over 5 years old) it was just a DOT helmet with one forehead vent...

The new one has a chin, forehead, and to top vents... is DOT and SNELL 2000 rated... and I paid less than $65 for it... on eBay...

When you talk about helmets, good and cheap don't come up in the same sentence. I'll always pay full price for a brand new helmet in person. Don't skimp out on this, your helmet is the single most important piece of riding equipment.... even if it makes you look like a complete dork :( .
