Well, unique as far as this forum goes. I decided to stop by our local cycle supply shop to get to know him, since I'll probably be knowing him well in the future. I was just browsing his inventory of mostly Harley Davidson mods, when I found a chrome license plate cover for about 7 bucks. Cool. I bought it.
I asked him about running all the time with the beam on high and he said certainly, unless alot of people are flashing their lights at you, which they don't.
As I was leaving I made mention of my scoots' roadrunner sounding horn. He said I needed a 110 or 128db horn that Harley's use. We went and inspected my scoot outside and he said that it has a standard horn, just very tucked away under the headlight. He told me he may have one in the back. He goes back and in less than a minute comes back with a super heavy duty horn with 110db written on it. We talk about how to mount it, then he hands it to me. I asked him how much, and he said nothing, you can have it. Whoa dude! I ended up putting it on this afternoon, only having to modify the scoot by drilling out the horn mount hole to the larger size, and now that sucker sounds like a Harley! I recommend the modification, anything helps. The original said 100db, but that Harley thing shakes the walls, even if its only 10 db louder, it sure SOUNDS louder!
I don't usually delve into my scoot on such short notice as it's my transportation to work tonight, but I learned so much about how the front of the bike works that I'm glad I did. I now know that changing the front blinkers will be nothing to do, the hardest thing will be affording the new ones!
Cool huh? If anybody is interested in doing this mod, let me know. I'll give you step by step instructions so you don't make the mistake I did, losing 2 screws down into the scoot, and having to take multiple panels off to find them.
