tires vs. rims

I have a yamaha vino and have been looking at getting either new rims and tires or just tires. does anyone know the largest set that can be placed on a yamaha vino? the stock rims appear to be about 10" and I have seen some sweet 12 1/2" on ebay but wasn't sure if these would fit with tires. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

10x3 is usually the max, thoug I squeezed 3.5'x10s on mine, I lost a lost a lot of braking, and had to double space the folks. Vinnie Reno put 3x10 up front and 3.5x10 rear. For tire info hit search. We got some six threads on the subject.
