I want to get a scooter for myself in the spring I have a Vino now but it is my wife's(can't take her scooter now can I) and was was gonig to get a Zuma but I started looking around and wondered if anyone knew if the Aprilia Mojito was a good scooter I know its a little more money but that aside i love the look and the guage cluster looks awesome. I also checked out if there is performace parts and there are plenty and they are about the same price as the Zuma/Vino parts. I just really like the look of it and it has a front disc brake also. I was also considering a Vino 125, it too is even more money than the other two but not after you do the mods to the other scooters. Won't I get more speed out of the 50's modded up? Speed is pretty much what I want, around 55ish would be wonderfull. It would be great if anybody could help me out with this I am so confused now looking at everthing. I need to guidance. What would you think would be the best scooter to get of these? I don't want to go past a stage to kit on any scooter because realiability is also a big factor.

I own both, a vino classic and a mojito custom 150. Heres my advice. Since you want speed and reliability, you should get either a large engine mojito or the vino 125. Both have plenty of power right out the door (mojito150-70mph, vino125-55mph). Both also come with front disk brakes, which are great when you reach those speeds. Also, if the mojito doesn't have enough power for you, there are 190cc kits out there  . Both are also 4 strokers, no smelly smoke.

As for the vino, zuma, and mojito retro.... they are all cool scoots. I personally luv my little vino, but I can't say it's the safest or most reliable of the two that I have. It is also a lot noisier after the mods. These are also alot cheaper than the mojito 150 or vino 125, even after all the mods. But my mojito 150 can still out muscle any stage 3 vino/zuma, and still get around 80mpg hahaha!!!

Either way you go, I think you'll be happy. You will have to mod the small engine bikes, because their performance is so weak. But other than that, all are quality scoots. I highly recommend Aprilia, seat is more comfy than vespa ETs too! :D

The Mojito looks more like a cruiser than the vintage style scooters, but I'd love to get the 150 classic, but I think that Aprilia 500 is next on the list after I get back from Japan.

I went and checked out my Aprilia dealer, their about 30 min away. I saw the Atlantic 500. That thing is sooooo nice. I sat on it and that seat was awesome, there was so much room and storage. I could only imagine the power it has 500cc! I am tring to see if the dealer will give me a good deal on 2001 Sr 50 ditech it only has 700 miles on it except fot the stickers being a little faded it looks perfect. What do you think would be a fair price for it? I was thinking around 1500-1700 would be fair but the cheaper the better you know. Thay do cost 2899 msrp and then their is tax and lic. I found out though the 05 model is all new. It get a new frame the seating position is a little more forward for better handling it also get a second gen ditech motor where the service is cut in half. I think you service it after break in somewhere around 3700 and not it will be like in the 7000s cut the service cost in half. They say it is also do better on gas. Here is a link if you want to check it out http://www.aprilia.com/portale/eng/mag_articolo.phtml?id=707
The front has the Factory r look. I think it is a awesome scooter. I am very tempted to wait and get one. They are coming in around June 05. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I'm wondering what Aprilia is going to be like with the Piggy merger coming up.

Dear Davey-boi,
I know that I am responding to an old post but I wonder if you still have your Aprilia and Vino and if you would talk to me about them. I too have a little 49cc Vino and love it. I live in New York and sometimes I feel like the taxi behind me is rearing up my tail and i need a little more power. I've checked out the Vespa ET4 and the Vino 125 and frankly I didn't like the feel of either of them. The Vespa wasn't very comfortable (too high) and the Vino 125's seat kind of slopes down on an uncomfortable angle. Maybe I'm too used to my Vino but the Mojito 150 felt good to me in the showroom. Do the handlebars feel too wide or the foot rest? That was one concern. The major concertn however was reliability. After having it for a year or so, do you find it reliable? Anyway, I know I have lots of questions but it's a big purchase for me and I'd love some more info. Not a lot of people own them. Thank you for your time. I really appreciate any advice you have to offer.
