I have a 2004 zuma, i had the stage one installed already. I dont have good acceleration at all as of now. I have the aluminum 70cc cylinder with the 19mm carb and the air filter. I'm going to have the same mechanic install the stage 2. Is there any thing i should tell the mechanic before i have him start? Should i get some synthetic oil? should he drain the old 2 stroke oil and put in the synthtic oil after he is done? If anyone can tell me the best advice on doing the stage two it would be appreciated. Im just afraid of the engine blowing up or something. Thanks for any info.

the carb needs to be correctly tuned... if not you will be to lean and toast the piston/cylinder or to rich and fowl plugs and it won't run very long...

The synthetic question... Heck yes... run synthetic.. DO NOT mix the old and new oil... drain the tank...

Example of the synthetic making a difference... I bought an older snow blower at a garage sale... replaced the plug and it worked.... IT would easily bog and die when I hit very much snow at all... this year after removing my oil tank on my scooter (I'm now premixing) I had a bunch of extra oil I had to do something with... so I added it to plain gas and am now using it on my snow blower...

We had a huge amount of snow already... Probably 2 times as deep when I snow blowed a couple times now compaired to when it used to stall... Now it runs like a champ and doesn't die!

I love it... best $10.00 I invested on lawn equipment... They guy told me it didn't work... As I said I replaced the plug and it started right up... but the synthetic oil is a definate plus....

The other thing, the throttle cable hook up is different on the new carb than the stock one... The stock set up is 2 cables, one pulls the carb to give fuel the other retracts the throttle (hand grip)... the ends are also way to big to fit into the carb... So he will have to remove the cables and put new ones in or dremmel the stock ones to be the correct size... Either will work... your choice... If you plan on ever going back to stock... then buy a new cable... he might even have a crimper to add an end to it...

be careful with the hises going to the carb;) The sizes of the hoses do not match.
