I have stage 2, kevlar belt, carbon fiber reed valves and racing clutch installed...
1st time out I hit around 50-52ish... Now it seams that it like 45-47ish...
I was thinking a top of 55 was more appropriate... Any thoughts? Maybe my transmission set up not correct? let me know...
Oh I did use 2 washers behind the variator (the inside piece with the belt face on it) as it was rubbing on the 3 screws behind the variator... Maybe this is causing it to slip or something?
Also when installing the exhaust I heard a rattle inside and tipped it so the head end was down and a restrictor fell out... This couldn't possibly cause it to run slower could it?
Got new rubber and the final drive gears on the way and am hoping for a good top speed of 65 MPH... Will be disappointed if I can't get it there.... after about a grand later! ya know... So any tips please let me know...

There is no correct speed. Terminal speed varies from scooter to scooter. In fact there are so many variables when it comes to tu-stroke scooters that your top end can vary day to day.
Air temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, even your elevation, and dew point can change how your scooter acts. Those alone can change the way your scooter acts. Then wind direction and speed can play in to the equation.a 10 mph tail wind can add 5mph to your top end, or you could loose it if you're heading in to it. That's kind of way we say results may vary when referring to top end, or give bracket.
I once service two Vino with nearly identical mileage. Both were 03's one had 1200 miles and the other 900, did a derestrict on both, and rejet. One topped out at 39 nd the other 36 on the same stretch of road. So even the mileage break in has an effect. The Vino like any fine wine gets better with age, same goes for the Zuma.

I would think about 60 should be a good number for a stage 1 and 2 kit though.

I was wondering the same thing. Erich and I got together yesterday and looked into it. Zuma's have a "rev limiter" at 9000 rpm. Do get rid of this you need a new CDI. You can also unplug your CDI, but your battery won't charge and you will blow your headlights. Don't ask me how I know that.
Erich is looking into the CDI's for the Zuma.

However I've got 1-3 and am only around 50 to 52... It'll go faster on a down hill but that doesn't help...
Hope there is a CDI unit that can make it go faster...

I am very anxious to see/buy a high rev CDI.
I want to sound like a chainsaw coming down the road at 70! :D

I thought yours did not come with an exhaust restrictor?

it was installed... I took it off for something... don't remember why now... but heard a rattle and tipped the pipe... it fell out on it's own...
It had 3 spot welds that obviously didn't hold very well...
