I have a stock 2004 Zuma with a tecnigas pipe. I lost bottom end acceleration, but picked up a lot of top end. After reading and searching this board I think I have to rejet the carb.
Do the stock Zuma carbs. use mikuni jets?
What is the size of the stock zuma jet?
When I order jets, I order the slotted round heads 100/604?
Thanks.

How is your transmission set up? Variator, Roller, torque spring...may also affect the take off and acceleration.
For stock jet, just goto any yamaha dealer, they should able to get it.

Oh, the stock jet is 80. The stock carb is 14mm Teikei

The Zuma is a stock set-up. I had a variator kit on there but I didn't like it, so it was taken off. So teh whole bike is stock besides the Tecnigas Pipe.
With the pipe I lost some bottom end torque to take off, but I gained top end. Stock I used to go 36 miles an hour. With the pipe I go past 40 easy, once it gets up there.

I did have the clutch springs. It gave the zuma a "stall kit". I would rev and it wouldn't go anywhere, and then when I was reving high enough it would just kick in.
If I waned to jet the stock carb, would the mikuni jets work in it?
They would be the rounded slotted ones right, 100/604?
THanks.

I was talking with my bro,
(who has always been into motorbikes & mechanics bigtime)
He said Teikei jets and Kiehin jets are interchangeable.
(don't quote me, quote my bro- he smokes a lot of weed!)
But I do know this, Mikuni and Kiehin jets can be interchangeable, but the numbers stamped on the jet go by a different scale beetween the 2.
So therefore, if what my bro said is true, and what I know to be true, I would think you can use the Mikuni for your Teikei carb.
I would reccomend just matching them up.
Because you sure aren't gonna find a teikei jet on the net!
On the net, check out any of these for examples, pictures & ordering:
They have both Mikuni and Kiehin
www.Motorcyclecarbs.com
or
www.cyclewareables.com
or just check with your local shop to match the jet.
