Well after quite a few months of down time, and waiting on parts and tireless polishing I finally got her back on the road. So far so good, I really like how the polishing work turned out. People look at me like i'm nuts cruising through town, there are a lot of tourists in town because we are about to have our annual Ironman Triathalon. Now I just need a decent shock for the rear and maybe rebuild the front forks for better handling. Here's the breakdown.

Polini Crankshaft
Polini Corsa/R
Polini Evo Variator
Polini Finned Pulley
Malossi Delta Clutch
Malossi Wing Clutch Bell
Malossi Yellow Torque Spring
Malossi Red Clutch Springs (set for least amount of tension)
19mm Arecche w/100 main jet & stock pilot Needle in middle
Unifilter
Pre-mixing and Kickstarting

Glad to hear you're back. I know you had alot of down time. She's looking sweet. How's it running? Witch filter are you running? I have the same Arreche Air Filter Box as you do and love it. I went from an 80 main with the stock and only had to go up to an 85 with that filter. It's no where near as loud as those unifilters.

It is running good right now, I upjetted from a 95 to a 100 main jet an it has been working well. I have the unifilter on it now and will probably switch to the arreche air box to quiet it down. Don't know if I will need to go back to the 95 main jet or not. I don't see the air box being a big restriction over the regular foam filter. I even went as far as to trim the insides of the red venturi as the rubber has casting flash from the mold on the long side radius.

Before the upjet it would run lean when I let off the throttle or at mid-throttle. I never tried to adjust the needle hieght until I upjetted. Bottom was too rich and the middle seems to work ok. A little on the rich side with a sputter every once and a while but I am playing it safe during break-in. I have already killed a Airsal, and a Corsa piston. I can cruise at 30-35 with no detonation or pinging, something I couldn't do before.

I can still fine tune my clutch for a higher RPM take off for better acelleration but taking off from a stop at 5600 is pretty loud as it is. Best would be about 7000-7500 I think, but that would be fairly obnoxious for town cruising.

If I can get around to it I am going to try the Air-box. I have to help a friend get his scooter running right first.

Why are'nt you using a 2000 torque spring...............and why did you switch out the springs on the Malossi Delta ?

Why are'nt you using a 2000 torque spring

I have been thinking of going to a Malossi red torque spring. Is this comparable to a 2000 RPM dpring? I also have a blue Polini torque spring but I am not sure of the RPM difference on that one. Does anyone know what the blue spring is rated for? It came with the variator kit.

and why did you switch out the springs on the Malossi Delta ?

I think it came with the white springs on it and I thought those were too light for it so I did the red ones and it kicks in at about 5600-6000 revs. Stock clutch and the red springs kicked in about 1000 rpm less than the stock clutch. So that kind of shows the difference in weight of the stock and Malossi clutch. I still have the blue and black springs, along with the adjustment plates for fine tuning. I thought I would go up in lightest to heaviest order for a baseline.

I kind of wish I got the Polini 2G clutch for the ease of adjustment.

the delta is better. with a tach it should only take 1 or 2 tries. I woulda went straight to the black springs bc i need ~8000 rpm launch.

I asked Speedy what I should put on my Malossi delta in conjunction with the Corsa/R, RS pipe, yada yada, and he told me 2000 torque spring and 2000 clutch springs. Still awaiting O/R puuleys and up-gear before I install Corsa, pipe, delta clutch, Polini super vari..........just running on MRP 70 cc upgrade kit for now...........at 61 mph.
