im in need of advice. I want to spray my wheels onj my mbk ovetto/yam neos. they are alloy wheels, but im presuming a sand down, a couple of coats of metal prima and then spraying is adequate??

sounds fine. just have to get the old ones down to bare metal and smooth.

I didnt even sand mine down. Just masked and cleaned with mineral spirits. I also used prake caliper paint. Worked great and looks great too.

i guess it depends on the texture of the paint you are using as well and how much of a perfectionist you are.

cheers peeps i just sanded them down to bear metal, they are masked and primed now im going for white :D
Also im spraying my seat with vinyl coat, ive been told that a very fast coating in paint thinners before applying works ne advances on that?

I believe when spraying vinyl or plastic, you need to use an adhesion promoter as well as specific paint for plastic and vinyls. I think they have flex agent in them so the don't crack when flexed. You need to prep the vinyl VERY WELL, clean, clean and clean again. Paints are available in spray bombs from local auto aprts store or hardware store. Might also want to use latex gloves to keep your skin oils from the prepped surfaces.

thanx matey, i had a go without reading this with the paint thinners on an old seat, it worked very well except it took the "croc skin" effect that my seat has off but it doesnt seem too bad and was easy :)
