So Here's the deal:

I bought the Stage One. Immediately noticed a huge difference. Around 7mph would launch up to 38, creaped up to 47. [just like i read that it would]

after a few weeks, my belt decintegrated.

after replacing it, the performance was never the same. Never got the kick at 10, and wouldn't go over 35.
So i rejetted. to a 70.
performance is back.

here's my new problem:
great speed off the line - at around 10mph, the motor boggs a little, then makes its way up to about 45.

what would cause it to bog down there, instead of taking off like it once did? rejetting gave me the horsepower that i was lacking, but still not performing as great as it once did.
any ideas?

(i did the whole kit - exhaust, clutch springs, pressure spring, lightest rollers, plus new variator pulley, 70 main jet.)

Did you re-assemble everything like you found it? Before you do anything drastic, I say you take everything apart and re-install all the parts. Another thing, get a torque wrench and tighten all the transmission nuts to the right tightness. When I didn't use a torque wrench, the transmission nut came loose while I was driving..... $400 later, I learned the importance of the torque wrench! Another thing, did you install the belt right? Are the arrows pointing forward? It's the lil things that'll get u with these machines.

Another thing, after the first problem all you changed was the belt and main jet right?

You know it's amazing how many issues were resolved on here because of a single washer was not put back on in the proper place.

everything is on right. washers all there, belt's the right way, everything looks cool.
it feels like a performance issue. something with the motor. i take off with great speed, but then it bogs down, but gradually makes it way on up.
Once i get up there, the thing just hauls...it's getting up there that's the problem.

i found that alot of the performance belts such as polini and malossi and top performance, belts all have a brake in period. i had bought a polini race belt and it was so hard to put on it was like under sized, after a week of riding it fit perfect and would ride all the way up.

might sound weird... but on 2-strokes...

everything is a ballancing act...

Now with that being said...

You might be a hair high on your jet... if you are getting a bit much fuel, you might be bogging due to extra fuel...

Not saying it's fact, but it's worth looking at the next smaller jet...

Also, did you tune the carb after you replaced the jet? with more fuel getting in, you need to double check your plug and make sure your running the correct richness...

Lastly... I'm trying to ballance take off with top end, and belt wear...

I had extremely light weights on my scooter... which caused the belt to slip... so I went with heavier weights... which keep the belt from slipping but make it bog a little when accelerating...

I think that might be what I have to live with... Top speed for a little acceleration... Now it should still go... if it takes 10 minutes to get to 30mph... then you need to go with lighter weights...
