Has anyone had any problems with after market roler weights getting stuck to the side and causing the pully to stay out. I came up to a stop light today and I noticed when I went to take off it felt like I was in 5th gear trying to take off. Of course the bike died. Once I got home I checked the pulley and sure enough the roler weights were not returning and stuck to the side. Am I the only one this bad stuff happens to?

Me niether. Maybe thats just a freak thing, if you got the variator or rollers from provo, they might be able to replace it for free.

did you modify the variator? IE: cut the tabs off?
Just wondering...
Also, are you using the rollers that are stock, in a stock variator?
Or is it an upgrade one? The rollers that come with the technomoto variator are pretty cheap...
Last ?, are the rollers worn badly? IE: large flat spots?

I just installed them last week. I am running the stock set up, I just installed the rollers that came with the pipe I bought from provo. I think I will install the stock ones and see what happens.

if you live in a wet climate, the roller weights "stick"
you can also get lube for the roller weights
warm up your bike properly, approx. 10 minutes
you may have to play with the throttle, back 'n' forth
as you ride, but they will move after they warm up.

I found what the problem was. The rollers have a metel incert. On three of them the incerts were lose and slide out at high rpms causing them to get hung up. The fix was to remove the metel incert a use 2 part apoxy on them. To test them I ran the zuma at wot for 5 miles. Its good.
