I was thinking about turning my Vino pink. Anyone have any idea what kind of paint would work??

Try that link out. Or go to krylon.com and click 'product selector' then 'plastics' on the side. I don't know what the guys on here have used but this is great stuff. I did my helmet with it and was impressed.
Is that link legal BTW?

Krylon "Fusion" plastic paint will technically work, but the results won't be professional. Search the Vino Style section for my post on how to properly paint the plastic body panels on your scoot. I'm a body shop manager, in case you care. ..blah..

i'm pretty sure it was the vinogirls yahoogroup that has a member who did that and was happy with the results, so you might want tosearch there.

The rule is NO links! From time to time, a link that has NOTHING to do with scooters will be overlooked :---

The difference is the Vino 125 and Zuma have fiberglass body panels and a Vino Classic has some unpainted ABS plastic panels.

You're right about that, they are not actually fiberglass-- They are a type of hard plastic that has fiberglass properties (but no fibers) and is easily painted.
The tan/light gray portion of the Vino classic is not amenable to being painted.

I'll respectfully disagree with you ST... Anything can be painted with the right prep and primer. (no your roller method doesn't work here)
Yes, even Playskool lawn furniture-type plastic can be painted.
Now what was that about a cactus? ;wink)

I'm curious to know about the plastic with fiberglass-like properties. The unpainted parts can of course be painted. That was what a previous ill worded and conceived post on my part was about, not about painting the painted parts.

Randy, I believe he's saying that things like the leg shield ect. are a hard nearly inflexable type of plastic as opposed to the general semi flexable plastic. They emit a "ticking" sound when tapped whereas other plastic emits a dull thud. Sorry to use so many scientific terms there. ;^)
Correct me if I'm wrong ST.

PZ I'm sure you must be correct. I wasn't sure if he was referring to a composite type of material or what.

I know if you break it, it's got color all the way through it, unlike fiberglass. I'm guessing wildly that it's some form of injection molded plastic. It's semi brittle and doesn't glue easily.
I know all this because my daughter rode mine through some shrubs and broke the front fender and legshield.

Is this a Vino classic you are referring to? If it is colored all the way through it would seem to indicate that it is molded in each color and then clear coated rather than simply painted. Interesting. From a manufacturing standpoint, it would seem to be cheaper to mold in color than to paint but perhaps not. I don't know about enviornmental regs. overseas so the opposite could be true.

As has been discussed ad nauseum:
The parts that look painted with shiny metallic paint are painted with shiny metallic paint.
The parts that look like unpainted colored plastic are made of unpainted colored plastic

In other words, you aren't any help to anyone, just a smartazz with nothing of any importance to say.
Also called a troll.
There a life out there somewhere for you, climb out from under your bridge and find it.

This is the last I'm replying to you sad little posts, so flame away flamer, I'm not here to be picked on by a scoolyard bully.
