I was riding up a hill and then after i got to the top it slipped a little and then turned off and i glided to a stop. I got it home and opened it up and the belt is totaled, the slider bushings are toast, and a couple of the washers are bent up. Why would this happen?

Where can i get a kevlar belt for my zip gt5? I ordered parts from vento for the bent stuff, I also need new slider bushings for the Malossi Variator kit.

I was just about to install new 4.5 gram rollers today too...

Kinda common ordeal with the malossi vari, don't panic about it.

Here's my experiance with it, before I knew much about ventos:

Basically you need to put a washer behind the backplate or else the belt slips and causes this. the stock belt is not too great either. You can still use the malossi vari, but I'd suggest soaking it in gas and then cleaning the hell out of it since theres probably burnt plastic on it. Then get some new bushings and make sure you use the right size rollers.

ok thanks, I'll have to try the gas thing becuase i have some major burnt rubber on it. Did you scrub it with anything besides a rag or....

Does anyone know a kevlar belt to get, I've heard Vino belts are alittle to small. I noticed on another post there was a link to kevlar belt for vento's from provo, but i cant find it without the link. Will that one work or is there a better one. I cant find the link that speedy posted with the poloni number in it.

I did a gas bath and scrubbed with a blue scratchfree m3 pad. worked good on the outside, and inside you just have to pick out as best as you can. thescootercentral has polini kevlar belts.
