WOW!!!! This thread started off so nicely!

Jeash... okay...

I have a 2004 zuma... I have about $700 in performance parts and a few hundred in other stuff invested in mine... See my scootergarage bio for that info...

http://www.provoscooter.com/vbull/vbgarage.php?

Obviously look under Jered for my list...

I am running in the range of aroudn 55mph... The parts I have are all "street" parts except the clutch I have... which is a racing clutch...

Now what I recommend is that if you are going to want a EXTREMELY high top end... get with Erich by the contact button on www.provoscooter.com or one of the email address' posted in several other threads... Ask him to quote you on the Malossi MHR parts... they are geared toward the all BALLS TO THE WALL... scooter...

I will eventually get to there but am now cashless in my quest for the fastest zuma in the world... so someone else (lennox) will probably get there 1st...

I'd imagine that 65-70 should be possible with the "top end racing parts" malossi MHR or Polani (what ever their top parts name is)...

get a good cylinder,
larger carb 20-28mm
racing exhaust... not a street performance exhaust...
reed cage
performance variator (i'd recommend the extended range malossi as it's supposed to be BAD AS HELL-0)
springs
rollers
basically every single part that can be replaced... should to make a top speed zuma...

However along with the higher speeds... come a lower "service life"

As well as a higher parts costs...

IE: technomoto variator on provo is like $80 or something like that...
The malossi wide range kit is around $300... includes a belt... and other parts...

Basically you get speed with what you pay for... but in the top end parts you start to loose reliability due to high stress on the parts...

it's give and take...

jered i see that you plan on making your bike a complete race set up one day. thats good. do you plan on converting your bike over to watercooled. if so check out the hebo manston2. out of the box those are the fastest cylinders.

Hey Jered, I split this one off because I thoguht it would:

A: Take on a life of it's own.
B: Make for a kick ass conversation.
C: Be super sexified with flavor!
D: All of the above.

I read that post where it was originally and thought... wow... one of the mods... want it to turn nasty... then saw this thread title... and thought HUH! I didn't post anything like that....

But it only makes since as yep... I think this thread could be a good one on it's own... THanks...

So... Yes... one day I want to go with a race set up but it'll be a while... probably a couple years...

I will definately look into the water cooled set ups as it only makes since IMO...

Wait, but if you convert it into a race scoot... will you still be able to drive around town? I mean, how long do those set-ups last? Ohhh, and can vinos be watercooled?

Sure you can drive it for a daily driver... The kicker about the set ups you can install...

They are quality parts = last longer
cheap part = short life time

correct tune = long life
incorrect tune = short life

ride sensibly = longer life
THRASH it = short life...

basically even a race set up, if your not WOT all the time... it should last a while... Heck those are made to rev 10,000 RPMs and higher... if your running at 5,000 rpms... it's gonna last longer...

it's all in how you take care of your scooter... and ride it...

I'm around 55mph...

So not to fast but not stock speeds either...

I got a MHR cylinder on the way... so I'm hoping that will help out on the top end... and when cash is available again I will get the over range tranny... and I hoping to get about 65mph or better from it...
