I just installed a 19mm carb and I am having a lot of gergel sound from the carb at 1/2 throtle. I tried to move the needle both ways, and that just made the gergel sound at diffrent points on the throtle. The plug looks good and no bogs. just that sound.(sounds like a go-ped with no air cleaner) I also have a pipe and 70cc kit. on the bike. Is there any one else out there that has this same set up? If so what main jet are using and were is the clip set. (I also have that k&n looking filter on it)

I have the same problem on both of my scooters rumming the 19mm carb. One is running the stock jet (95) and the other a 105 and I've tried several diffferent combinations like you, my solution was to run WOT.

I just put a 90 main jet in and it is getting better. And my plug looks like card board.(burning perfect) I am going to go down to a 85. I will keep you posted.

I have the 19mm carb from provoscooter on mine... with a 95 jet....
The only time mine acts like that is when the temps are below 40 degrees... I had an auto choke on it and it wouldn't stay running after a few minutes of riding... now I have a manual choke... it stays running but makes th gurgles and acts like it can't stay at idle long...
Unfortunately I feel it's only related to the temperatures... when it was in the 50's it ran perfect and nothing else changed but the temps...
You might just need to play with your carb settings more... What temps are you riding in?

I could tell you now put a stock airbox on and you will be fine man. I have a question for you do you like hondas or you are a hater of the hondas?

I'm not a honda fan...
I don't really care about brand of cars... Just like if the one I own doesn't have problems... I prefer VW over any other brand... Y?

The temp is around 60. And I am running the auto choke. Im starting to give up. I was thinking of putting the stock air box with a larger intake hole. But then i am sure the main jet will need to changed and i will probley have a loss of power. If anyone comes up with any outher ideas please let me know. (honda is ok, I drive a vw till my 05 mustang comes in) :D

Go to manual choke and put the stock air box on. The bogging is because of the aftermarket air filter. I am the honda man. They are Japanesse cars so you pay and you get what you pay for :)

For anyone that hates the gurgle sound that comes from the 19mm carb I found a fix. Just install you stock air box and make sure to drill many holes in it. also remove the snorkel hose. You will not have to rejet and you wont lose any power.
