Interesting. Seems strange that so many have gone to the trouble of putting it on Bugeyes, and yet I could fine no mention in the forums of anyone actually putting one on a prebug. I have not had a chance to properly test mine, but have not noticed a huge difference as yet. Need to do more tuning, and play with jets a little.

alot of people think they can make $5000 a week by watching a TV infomerical.
If you had already removed your rev limiter on your prebug, then you prolly wont see any difference either.

I've never heard of anyone posting success stories after cdi installs. It's like trying to notice a 5hp increase by installing a K&N on your car.

FWIW, my Prebug is a later one, and did not have the famous "snip here to remove rev limiter" wire.
Also, during my testing I noticed a few things:
1) I am able to hold a higher speed up hills around here
2) The bike feels slower, but when actually watching speeds on known streets, I found it is not slower, but just smoother - it actually gets up to speed quicker.
3) I am now running lean at top (and a bit in the middle, too). So, I am now waiting for some jets before I do any further tuning.
Side note: I previously had the intake snorkle removed. (Plug cuts showed just about perfect) I bored it out a little and put it back in when I did the CDI. Now I'm lean. When I get a bigger jet in, I'll take a read, then pull the snorkle again.

I have a 2000 and the snip the wire trick didn't work for me either. Keep us posted and let us know if it's worth the $$ once it's tuned in. Be sure to get on that lean condition you have. Two strokes are allways the fastest right before they explode. Been there, done it.

OK, ran it on the highway today (6 mile stretch posted at 60km/h = 37mph).
Had it running 72-75 km/h (44-46mph) at about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle. Still a little lean for comfort, didn't open it up. Previously, I was only able to hit these speeds wide open.
On the way back, I had a massive headwind. Easy 60kph (I didn't try any faster, as I was following somone) on a stretch where I was previously only able to do a little over 60 without any wind!
Mainjets are on order. Stock is 93, I have a 95 and 97 coming to tune with.
