If I was over there I'd buy it... the price now is $510.00 no shipping as it's local pick up only...
This looks awesome as of now... I so wish I was over there... I'd buy it in a heart beat...
It says thay no guarentee of course... but with the amount of stuff you get.... just parting them could be worth the money... then again... the pic of the vino's... looks pretty nice... minor work needed?
good luck on who ever gets this....

This auction is for a large lot of 50cc scooters (18 bikes) that were purchased earlier in the year as part of a much larger collection of bikes from baltimore MD police auctions.. the vast majority of these scooters were confiscated from thieves who were riding them, sat around for a few months in an impound lot without being claimed, got bought up by a private auction house in baltimore, and fell into our hands via ebay.
We repaired and resold half of scoots (about 25) and are now completely insane and jaded and ready to embroil ourselves in a different adventure. Consequently, the time has come for us to pass on our lot to other repair minded folks.
Many of the bikes up for auction here are in good shape cosmetically and mechanically, but most have not been started simply because we haven't had time to mess with them.. we've found that nearly all the bikes sold so far just needed a good thorough cleaning/carb rebuild and new fluids/plugs etc to get going.. in other words, most of this stuff works fine; it's just been sitting too long.
The majority of the scoots here are chinese in make (that is, they come off the geely/quingi/quian jiang assembly line that churns out 75% of the bikes people putter around DC on), but there are several taiwanese (CPI) and japanese (yamaha. honda) models in the lot ... a more complete list:
3 yamaha vinos
1 yamaha zuma
2 CPI popcorns
1 honda elite 50
1 jonway
1 kinetic
2 daytona
1 puch/hero
1 honda hobbit
1 mongoose (quingi)
2 quingi 50s
1 e-ton beamer
1 hi-tong
Also included in the lot is a huge collection of yamaha parts/plastics and tons of spare mirrors/signals/etc that can be used to complete bikes with missing pieces..
Some of the bikes (2 or 3) have been broken down somewhat and have engines separated from the frames; most, however, are all in one piece...
Most of the bikes are pictured below; all will sell with notarized baltimore co. bills of sale (with the exception of the 81 hobbit, which was purchased on a whim as a trade-in)
Since we have not gotten inside most of these bikes there are no guarantees about what runs/what doesn't and what you may need to complete the bikes.. as stated earlier, almost all of these were confiscated while being ridden, and our experience has shown that they are not far from running/rideable in the majority of cases.. a few of these have frame damage and are missing bits and pieces but this is a lot of PARTS bikes.. don't expect a collection of pristine used scoots (we're not asking that kind of price).. on the other hand, don't expect a mountain of crap.. all of these bikes have a slew of useable/saleable parts and the majority can be made to ride with a little work..
I think that about covers it... i realize that this is a large collection and will require some strategizing to move for the buyer.. if you have any questions whatsoever about how we can work things out please call me (bryan) at 202 413 1620 or email me and i'll be happy to negotiate... i will NOT be able to ship the scooters myself, but i will consider strapping stuff to pallettes if the buyer will arrange and pay for pick up/shipping via freight truck.
This is a great winter project for somebody who loves to tinker; we've had loads of fun messing with these things all summer and relishing the joy of bringing a slew of noble steeds back to life so that other scooter-fiends can galavant around the city-- i invite you all to share in our (sometimes) frustrating as hell, (other times) remarkable, rewarding, ( enduringly) cathartic journey. happy bidding! this is a no reserve auction, but the bikes are being listed in multiple places at once, so i reserve the right to end this early if i get a better offer .. i'm not looking for a lot of money here (less than cost), but i need to break even! thanks!
Theft recovery from Bmore, figures. Since I expect several of them are DC recovered, there are no plates or registration of VIN in DC, they recovered them but with no registration on DC-DMV records they couldn't return them to the owners who most likely were insured payment via an insurance claim. And I'd bet some were used in the commission of either a crime, or they were the proceeds of drug trafficking both prone to police auction.
