Hi guys,
I just bought my old 2002 Vino 50cc back. I had to install new variator, pulley, cam, weights and new belt (all Yamaha STOC).
*edit*
I actually had to use my old cam, because the new cam had a smaller hole with gears on it. I had a hard time putting it on the crank. My old shaft had a big hole in the middle, and it actually wasn't even touching the crank -- ? problem?
*edit*
The bike is somewhat fast on the takeoff...
It will get to 20-25 mph in no time. It was creeping above 25, but I havent tested it throughly.
I noticed I am missing a spacer (not governer) between the pulley and the variator. When I de-restricted my bike 2 years ago, I might've forgotten to put it back. Does that spacer make any difference? Is it really needed there? The belt appears to be squished between the variator and the pulley. It is not resting on the bottom. I am not sure if the spacer would allow it to sit on the bottom, which would explain more power on take off... I am missing that spacer :(
The second thing is, when i lean the bike to the right, i am hearing clicking noise from the transmission case. I didn't use impact wrench, so I am afraid that i didn't tighten the variator enough, and for some reason, it may be flopping lose. Is that normal?
I also removed the transmission plastic cover, and the aluminum cover gets hot in no time.
I haven't ridden a scooter in two years. My vino's handlebars feel very loose? Am I imagining?
Does Vino have any compression braking? I remember letting go of the throttle, and the bike would slow down. Now, it really doesnt slow down. It still keeps going... Again, I may be imagining? I have been riding on a V-TWIN motorcycle with plenty off compression braking...
Please help. I love this lill thing. :)
Thank you.
